Swivel winch rotated via an actuator in response to pressure sensor data
10173870 · 2019-01-08 · ·

A system and a method for a swivel winch are described for rotating a winch about an axis such that friction is reduced when letting out or pulling in a line. The swivel winch includes a fairlead with an orifice and sensors which sense the pressure from the cable and send the retrieved data to a controller which generates commands for an actuator, causing the swivel mount coupled to the winch to swivel in a direction that will relieve pressure.

Winch system

A winch system for controlling the elevation of an aerostats restrained by a cable is provided. The system includes a capstan arrangement configured for reducing the tension in a segment of a cable extending between an aerostats side and a drum side thereof; a spool drum configured for wrapping therearound a segment of the cable extending from the drum side of the capstan arrangement; a first drive mechanism configured to selectively activate the capstan arrangement in a released mode, in which the cable is let out towards the aerostats, and a pulling mode in which the cable is pulled in towards the spool drum; and a second drive mechanism configured to rotate the spool drum in the released mode and in the pulling mode such that the segment of the cable extending from the drum side of the capstan arrangement is pulled in a counter direction to the direction of the tension exerted on the cable.

Load-Facing Winch

A system and method for a load-facing winch are described for hauling or lifting loads at least 30 from center of the primary support object. The load-facing winch includes a winch-mount that includes a housing, a center-pivot, a mounting-plate, and a plurality of springs. The mounting-plate is attached to the winch and tilts and/or turns about the center-pivot, which allows the winch to face the load. By directing the winch to face the load, angular resistance against a moving fairlead may be reduced.

Winch With One-Way Reverse Tensioner
20180044151 · 2018-02-15 ·

A winch is described that includes a drum, a motor and transmission, and a tensioner. The motor and transmission apply torque to the drum, thereby enabling the drum to draw in and let out a line. The tensioner is positioned adjacent to the drum, such that when the line passes between the tensioner and drum, the line is in frictional contact with the tensioner and drum. The tensioner rotates with a linear speed exceeding a linear speed of the drum as the line is let out from the drum, and rotates freely as the line is drawn onto the drum. Methods for making and using the winch are also described.

Top-Mounted Compensator For Use In A Motion Compensation System

A bell design crown block for a top mounted compensator includes a removable, tilting sheave block mounted within the outside perimeter of a crown block yoke. An actuator installed in the crown block actuates the tilt function. No hinge adaptor is required and the sheave block does not hang past or below the crown block yoke. When used in a floating platform application, idler sheaves are mounted on the crown block yoke and an optional interface beam may be provided for the active heave cylinder head.

The present disclosure presents a webbing take-up device, which comprises: a spool; a lock section that is restricted from rotating at a time of a vehicle emergency so as to limit rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction; a force limiter mechanism that permits rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction at a force limiter load or greater when rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction with respect to the lock section is being limited; a switching member that switches a load value of the force limiter load by switching between a rotation-restricted state and a rotation-enabled state; and a mounting member that includes a switching member mounting section at which the switching member is disposed, and a restriction section that is engaged with the switching member so as to restrict displacement of the switching member disposed at the switching member mounting section.
