Load Securing Pulley System
20180093871 · 2018-04-05 ·

A load securing pulley supports the weight of a hoisted load by restraining a load-support cord in order to maintain tension within the load-support cord between the hoisted load and the load securing pulley. The load securing pully includes a wheel-supporting housing, a wheel-receiving opening, a hook retention eye, a rope lock, and a pulley wheel. The hook retention eye is connected to the wheel-supporting housing such that the present invention is able to be suspended from a hook to a raised horizontal support. The wheel-receiving opening laterally traverses into the wheel-supporting housing in order to allow the pulley wheel to be positioned and rotate within the wheel-supporting housing. The rope lock allows for the load-support cord to be secured to the present invention through tension due to the weight of the hoisted load.

Pulley systems for hauling or lowering loads

A load-hauling device includes a pair of karabiners, each having an array of pulleys, a pulley rope fixed at one end to one of the karabiners below its respective pulley array, to anchor that end of the rope, the pulley rope passing sequentially between the pulleys of each pulley array to provide a mechanical advantage at the free end of the pulley rope when pulled, a rotatable locking cam mounted between a cam yoke fixed around an end pulley of one of the pulley arrays, wherein the cam includes a cam spring to bias the cam to engage with the rope and permit movement of the rope in one direction while preventing movement of the rope in the other direction, the cam including an integral trigger and locking mechanism to selectively disengage the cam from the rope and allow the device to release a load carried thereby.

SAFETY DEVICE FOR CLIMBING ACTIVITIES AND A CORRESPONDING METHOD
20170203158 · 2017-07-20 · ·

There is provided a safety device for climbing activities usable with a rope. The device comprises a first pulley mounted to a base plate, the first pulley being configured to engage a first portion of the rope; a second pulley mounted to the base plate, the second pulley being configured to engage a second portion of the rope, the second portion of the rope being downstream of the first portion; and a third pulley mounted to the base plate, the third pulley being configured to guide a third portion of the rope, the third portion being between the first portion and the second portion. It is advantageous that a position of at least one of the first, the second and the third pulley at the base plate can be varied. A corresponding method is also provided.

ARBORIST BLOCK

An arborist block is provided that includes a front plate having a front plate inner surface, a back plate having a back plate inner surface, a sheave rotatably coupled to a sheave axle secured between the front plate and back plate and radially centered along a sheave rotational axis, and a plurality of sheave locks situated in sheave lock tracks and radially extendable into a plurality of lock receiving recesses in the sheave to prevent rotation of the sheave relative to the sheave axle.

Security System for Operations in Wind Generators

A security system for operations in wind generators, applicable to wind generators with a hoisting point (2), includes a cable (3) which is attached by one end to the element to be secured, normally a robotised unit (4), and by the other end to a counterweight (8), such that the cable (3) passes through a locking system (61) and a first pulley (6) which are attached to the hoisting point (2). The counterweight (8) can be installed on a pulley block (7) with at least two branches. The system ensures the integrity of the tower-nacelle assembly (1) and the robotised unit (4) in the event of the latter being detached.
