EQUIPMENT VISUAL STATUS INDICATOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
A lift device having an implement, a prime mover configured to drive the implement, and a connectivity module communicably coupled with the lift device. The connectivity module is configured to receive an input relating to a status of the lift device, and provide an indication representing the status of the lift device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC GENERATION OF WORK SITE EQUIPMENT GROUPINGS
A system for automatic generation of a work site equipment grouping is provided. The system includes a plurality of work machines, each work machine configured to wirelessly communicate with other work machines. The system also includes a local area network including a plurality of communicatively connected nodes. The nodes include the work machines. The work machines are configured to create and join the local area network when the work machines are within a signal range of one or more of the plurality of nodes.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BLEED DOWN AND RETRACTION OF A CONSTRUCTION MACHINE BOOM
A hydraulic system for controlling bleed down and retraction of a boom within a safety envelope includes a backup battery power supply, and at least a first boom lift hydraulic cylinder configured to raise and lower the boom. The first boom lift hydraulic cylinder includes a solenoid bleed valve electrically connected to the backup battery power supply. The hydraulic system also includes an input device controllable by an operator of the boom. The input device may, for instance, be used by the operator to initiate bleed down and retraction of the boom from an elevated position. To accommodate independent failsafe features of the system, the input device is configured to selectively actuate the solenoid bleed valve using electrical power supplied from the backup battery power supply.
Voltage and current alert system for aerial device
A voltage and current alert system and method for an aerial vehicle including an extendable boom member is disclosed. The system and method include voltage and current sensors disposed throughout the aerial vehicle. The system and method further include components for conversion of the alert signal from a digital signal to a fiber optic signal, therein decreasing the power requirements of the system as well as allowing the signal to bypass a dielectric gap. The system further may shutdown operation of the aerial vehicle upon a detection event.
Winch line tension measurement system
Systems and methods for measuring and regulating winch line pull for winches are disclosed. A tension measuring system may be mounted to a winch mounting bracket for measuring tension in the winch line during use. The tension measuring system may comprise at least one load cell for measuring the tension in the winch line. A control system may receive a measured tension value for the winch line, compare the measured tension value to a target tension value, and consequently adjust the motor. The control system may be configured to hold the winch line at a substantially constant tension. The measured tension values may be logged and graphically displayed.
Method for tracking lifting events at a construction site
One variation of a method for monitoring lift events at a construction site includes: deriving a lifting profile from a first timeseries of load values, output by a load sensor coupled to a crane hook, during a first time period; deriving an oscillation characteristic from a first timeseries of motion values, output by a motion sensor coupled to the crane hook, during the first time period; identifying a type of an object carried by the crane hook during the first time period based on the lifting profile and the oscillation characteristic; selecting a load handling specification for the object based on the type of the object; accessing a second timeseries of motion values output by the motion sensor during a second time period; and, in response to the second timeseries of motion values deviating from the load handling specification, activating an object motion alarm for the object.
OPERATION CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE WITH AN AERIAL WORK PLATFORM
An operation control device for a vehicle with an aerial work platform comprises a vehicle body (3), a boom (5) provided on the vehicle body so as to be capable of rotating, vertically swinging, and extending and contracting, a work platform (8) provided at the tip of the boom, an operation device for operating the boom, an operation control device (9) for controlling rotating, vertically swinging, and extending and contracting the boom based on an operation signal from the operation device, a designation device for designating an allowable work range of the work platform, and an operation preventing device for preventing the operation of the boom by the operation control device so that the work platform does not exceed an allowable work range designated by the designation device.
VEHICLE WITH AN AERIAL WORK PLATFORM
A vehicle with an aerial work platform comprises a traveling body 10, a boom 30 vertically swingable, a work platform 50 attached to the boom, and a parallel link mechanism 70 installed between the tip of the boom and the work platform. The parallel link mechanism comprises a boom side vertical link member 72 pivotably connected to the boom on a first connecting pivot axis, an upper horizontal link member 73 pivotably connected to the boom side vertical link member on the first connecting pivot axis, a work platform side vertical link member 71 pivotably connected to the upper horizontal link member on a second connecting pivot axis, a lower horizontal link member 74 pivotably connected to the boom side vertical link member on a third connecting pivot axis. The lower horizontal link member is pivotaly connected to the work platform side vertical link member on a fourth connecting pivot axis. The work platform is attached to the work platform side vertical link member, and a leveling cylinder attached to the the boom is pivotably connected to the boom side vertical link member and the lower horizontal link member on on the fourth connecting pivot axis.
Inductor to control transient currents during energized bond on
A system and method using at least one inductor operatively coupled to an electrically insulating structure suppresses transient currents generated during a bond-on process by a human worker with energized electrical equipment so as to inhibit passage of the transient currents through the electrically insulating structure operatively coupled to the energized electrical equipment.
Bucket Truck Canopy
The bucket truck canopy is a PVC framework with adjustable and removable vinyl windows. The structure is built to attach to the bucket of a bucket truck by means of four clamps. The length of the vinyl windows on the four sides is four to five inches longer than the PVC structure to hang past the lip of the attached bucket and further protect against the weather. All of the vinyl windows are translucent, giving visibility to the worker within the canopy, and are connected to the framework by velcro so the worker may remove them or adjust their positioning as desired. The pitched roof provides shelter from precipitation and is held in place by a locking mechanism. All elements of the bucket design and locking mechanism are non-flammable and non-conductive to protect the worker inside of the structure.
