Enhancing the Antimicrobial Activity of Biocides with Polymers
Disclosed are compositions comprising a) an antimicrobial agent, which is selected from the group consisting of biocides containing halogen atoms and/or containing phenolic moieties, formic acid, chlorine dioxide, chlorine dioxide generating compounds, dialdehydes; components containing an antimicrobial metal such as antimicrobial silver, and b) a polyamine, especially a polyethylenimine. The polyamine is effective as a booster for the antimicrobial agent.
REPELLENT AND ATTRACTANT COMPOSITION FOR DICHROMATIC ANIMALS
The combination of a repellent agent or an attractant agent with a wavelength-specific visual cue agent has been found to produce an unexpected and synergistic effect of increased repellency or attraction in dichromatic animals who are not maximally sensitive to the wavelength of the repellent or attractant agent. The method of the invention may be used to repel dichromatic-animal pests; or to prevent or minimize monetary damage, particularly to agricultural products, natural resources or private property. The method of the invention may also be used to attract dichromatic animals for the purpose of agricultural production, recreational opportunities (e.g., wild-rodent feeders), or the effective administration of target-animal pharmaceuticals or mitigation techniques.

Antimicrobial polymers with enhanced functionalities
Techniques regarding ionene and/or polyionene compositions with antimicrobial functionalities are provided. For example, one or more embodiments can comprise a chemical compound, which can comprise an ionene unit. The ionene unit can comprise a cation distributed along a degradable backbone. The degradable backbone can comprise a norspermidine structure having a carbonyl group. Also, the ionene unit can have antimicrobial functionality.

1,8-bis(Schiff base)-p-menthane derivatives as well as preparation method and applications thereof
This invention discloses a type of 1,8-bis(Schiff base)-p-menthane derivatives as well as their preparation method and applications. The reaction of 1,8-diamino-p-menthane with a substituted benzaldehyde was carried out in a polar organic solvent at 0 C.-75 C. for 1-48 h. After the completion of the reaction, part of the solvent was distilled off to perform recrystallization to get a 1,8-bis(Schiff base)-p-menthane derivative, whose pre-emergence herbicidal activity against ryegrass was determined by using the Petri dish seed germination method. The 1,8-bis(Schiff base)-p-menthane derivatives, obtained with this method in high yield and mild reaction conditions, have a good inhibitory effect on the growth of annual ryegrass, and low toxicity.
