PLASTIC CONTAINER HAVING A MOVABLE BASE
A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish defining an opening into the container, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewall defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel located in the lower portion. The pressure panel is movable between an outwardly-inclined position and an inwardly-inclined position to compensate for a change of pressure inside the container. The standing surface defines a standing plane, and the entire pressure panel is located between the standing plane and the upper portion of the container when the pressure panel is in the outwardly-inclined position.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRESSURE-PACKAGING A CONTAINER TO BE PROCESSED AND ASSOCIATED PRESSURE-PACKAGING MACHINE
Disclosed is a device and a method for pressure-packaging a container to be processed, which is sealed by a stopper, the device including a cap with a needle, a fluid injector, and a heating cannula, the cap being designed to be applied to the stopper in a tight manner, the needle being able to move so as to pierce a hole through the stopper, the cannula being able to move so as to close the hole by the melting of the material of the stopper, the needle and the cannula being arranged such that the axes of movement thereof are secant at a point located in the stopper, the end of the cannula being convex.
CONTROLLED CONTAINER HEADSPACE ADJUSTMENT AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
A sealing and pressure dosing apparatus, and container filling method, including a capping machine (102) which receives containers (1). Closures (80) are applied to the containers (1) immediately following the raising of pressure within the containers (1) by a pressure dosing system in a pressure sealing chamber (84). Preferably a cooling system is integrated with the capping machine.
CONTAINER STRUCTURE FOR REMOVAL OF VACUUM PRESSURE
A hot-fill PET container or bottle (10) filling with a liquid at an elevated temperature has a side wall (9) extending to a lower portion including a pressure panel (11) and a base (21) in its unfolded or pre-fill position. The panel (11) is transversely oriented and has a decoupling or hinge structure or element (13), an initiator portion (1) and control portion (5) of a steeply angled inverting conical section between 30 and 45 degrees. The control portion enables the inversion of the panel (11) into the container (10) to compensate for vacuum or reduced pressure induced within the container as the liquid cools down. The base (2) can also have a plurality of reinforcing ribs (3).
Method of handling a plastic container having a moveable base
PLASTIC CONTAINER HAVING A DEEP-SET INVERTIBLE BASE AND RELATED METHODS
In one embodiment, a method of processing a plastic container having a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The method includes: blow-molding a plastic container having an upper portion including a finish, a sidewall, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, and a substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel having an inner annular wall and a central push-up portion located in the base, wherein a base mold portion is displaced longitudinally with respect to first and second side mold portions to form the pressure panel set above the standing surface; introducing heated liquid contents into the plastic container with the pressure panel located in an outwardly-inclined position entirely between the standing surface and the upper portion; capping the plastic container; and, moving the pressure panel to an inwardly-inclined position entirely between the standing surface and the upper portion.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRESSURE-PACKAGING A CONTAINER TO BE PROCESSED AND ASSOCIATED PRESSURE-PACKAGING MACHINE
Disclosed is a method and a device for pressure-packaging a container to be processed, which is sealed by a stopper arranged above a head space of the container, the method including: engaging sealingly a cap over the stopper, the cap including a piercing unit and sealing unit; piercing a hole through the stopper by lowering the piercing unit; lifting the piercing unit out of the stopper; introducing a fluid into the head space via the hole; sealing the hole by melting the material of the stopper by lowering the sealing unit by melting; lifting the sealing unit by melting; and removing the cap.
Method of handling a plastic container having a moveable base
System for processing containers
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for processing containers. The system may include an apparatus for processing sealed plastic containers having a first headspace pressure. The apparatus may include: an open entry port or tunnel for continuously receiving containers; a sanitizer configured to sanitize outside surfaces of the received containers; a perforator configured to perforate or open a cap or seal of the containers within the apparatus; a sealer configured to seal the perforation or opening formed in the cap or seal of the containers; an open exit port or tunnel for continuously exiting the processed containers; and a conveyor system configured to transport or convey the containers. The system may further include a production line including a filler for filling empty blow-moulded containers with a heated liquid to pasteurize inside surfaces of the containers and a capper for sealing the filled blow moulded containers.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING BEVERAGE CONTAINERS WITH RECOOLING AND GAS FEED
Disclosed is a method for producing liquid containers by: producing a plastic container by a blow moulding process; filling the plastic container with a flowable medium, such as a liquid; and at least partially closing the container, which is filled with the liquid, with a container closure. After the at least partial closing of the container, a gaseous medium is fed to the interior of the container via at least one opening introduced into at least one portion of a wall of the plastic container or a circumferential wall of the container closure or via an intermediate space which exists between a mouth and the container closure.
