SMART INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR A DISPENSING AND BLEND-IN- CUP BEVERAGE PLATFORM
A smart inventory management system is described for a dispensing and blend-in-cup beverage platform including a container having an information tag that is configured to store unique information specific to a particular product, a reader configured to read the stored information from the information tag, a control board configured to host a software based decision engine which is configured to interpret the information specific to a particular product and to control one or more system components based at least in part on the information, a pump controlled by the control board and configured to pump beverage concentrates out of the containers in order to dispense the beverage concentrate into a beverage holder, and a check valve located between an opening on the container and the pump, the check valve configured to provide backflush prevention of foreign solutions into the container.
FLAVOR AND ADDITIVE DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BEVERAGE DISPENSERS
Flavor and additive delivery systems and methods for beverage dispensers are disclosed. An example beverage dispenser includes flavor containers configured to contain flavor mixtures, flavor tags each of which is fixed to a respective one of the flavor containers, flavor sensors each of which is positioned to read tag information from a respective one of the flavor tags to monitor the respective one of the flavor containers, memory configured to store instructions related to dispensing water and the flavor mixtures, and a processor. The processor is configured to detect, based on the tag information collected by the flavor sensors, whether any of the flavor containers is at least one of expired, counterfeit, or out-of-position. The processor is configured to disable use of each of the flavor containers that are detected to be at least one of expired, counterfeit, or out-of-position.
Draft beer supply chain systems and methods
Supply chain systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring fluid levels in liquid containers, such as kegs. Embodiments include sensors that fit within a keg's false bottom, measure the weight of the keg, and transmit the weight information to a computer database via a wireless network. Other embodiments include an RFID device with information about a characteristic of the liquid within a keg (such as brand and/or type of beer) that may be attached to the keg and paired with the sensor so the sensor can transmit information about the characteristic of the liquid in the keg. In alternate embodiments, the sensor's transmitter is short range and an uplink/gateway is used to receive information from the sensor and relay that sensor's information to a broader wireless network. Multiple containers in close proximity may each be fitted with an RFID device and sensor and communicate their individual information to the database.
Non-invasive attachable smart device housing and smart device methods and systems for beverage containers
Disclosed is a smart device housing configured to fixably attach to a beverage vessel having a domed surface at a distal end, the domed surface adjacent a wall terminating at a lip, the smart device housing having an exterior configured as a transformable shape enabling a locking fit between the lip and the domed surface of the beverage vessel. Also disclosed is a system wherein a smart device has at least one proximity, image or distance sensor having a beam of detection with a path, the sensor located and directed such the beam of detection covers a location where a coupler can be attached to the beverage vessel, the smart device configured to determine whether the coupler is attached to the beverage vessel by measuring whether the path is obstructed by the coupler. Also disclosed is a method of determining the fill status of a beverage container.
Cartridge receiver, cartridge system, drink preparation machine and method for producing a drink
The invention relates to a cartridge system (1) for producing a drink in a drink preparation machine, comprising a cartridge (2) that has a reservoir (6) filed with a drink substance (7), and a cartridge receiver (10) that can be reversibly connected to the cartridge, said cartridge receiver (10) comprising a mixing chamber (8) and a cartridge discharge device (34) which causes at least partial transfer of the drink substance (7) from the reservoir (6) into the mixing chamber (8), and said cartridge receiver (10) comprising a fluid supply (12) which opens into the mixing chamber (8). The invention also relates to the cartridge receiver (10) of the cartridge system (1), the drink preparation machine, and the corresponding method for producing a drink (70).
Cartridge System, Beverage Preparation Machine, and Process For Manufacturing a Cartridge System
Proposed is a cartridge system for making a beverage, the cartridge system being insertable into a beverage preparation machine and comprising a cartridge that includes a reservoir filled with a beverage substance; and a cartridge receptacle; the cartridge receptacle includes a mixing chamber fluidically connectable to the reservoir, and a fluid feed line extending into the mixing chamber; characterized in that the cartridge system comprises an intermediate cap, the cartridge includes a first connection means, the intermediate cap includes a first mating connection means that is complementary to the first connection means, and the first mating connection means is connected to the first connection means.
Cartridge System, Beverage Preparation Machine, and Process For Manufacturing a Cartridge System
Proposed is a cartridge system for making a beverage, the cartridge system being insertable into a beverage preparation machine and comprising: a cartridge that includes a reservoir filled with a beverage substance; and a cartridge receptacle connected to the cartridge; the cartridge receptacle includes a mixing chamber fluidically connectable to the reservoir, and a fluid feed line extending into the mixing chamber; the cartridge includes a cartridge wall, and the cartridge system includes a sealing element for closing the reservoir; characterized in that a seal between the cartridge and the cartridge receptacle is formed by a sealing means.
NON-INVASIVE ATTACHABLE SMART DEVICE HOUSING AND SMART DEVICE METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR BEVERAGE CONTAINERS
A smart device for a beverage vessel having a domed surface adjacent a wall terminating at a lip, the smart device having a housing, and at least one expanding member, the at least one expanding member being one of integral to the housing, attached to the housing, or separate from the housing. The at least one expanding member may be configured to be manipulated by way of a force.
