Fleet fuel management system

A fleet fueling system may be implemented with controllers electronically interfacing with fuel dispensers at dispensing stations and communicating via a wide area network with one or more computing device implementing multiple subsystems. Hardware components and subsystems may be configured to avoid operating errors and provide end-to-end functionality, including one or more of: avoiding damage to movable readers that can collect information about assets positioned at fuel dispensing stations, selectively authorizing fuel to be dispensed based on the types and amount of fuel those assets are authorized to receive, quickly and reliably entering information about assets, providing analytics relating to fuel usage per asset, predicting future fuel needs at each of multiple fuel dispensing sites and scheduling fuel deliveries based on predicted needs, and detecting or correcting operating errors in the system.

Intelligent fuel dispensers

In general, intelligent fuel dispensers are provided. In at least some implementations, an intelligent fuel dispenser can determine customer identities and/or other characteristics and provide customized fueling sessions based on the determined customer identities and/or other characteristics. In at least some implementations, the fuel dispenser includes a touchless interface allowing customers to complete fueling sessions with minimal physical contact with the fuel dispenser.

The subject matter discloses a method, the method comprises receiving an event of capturing a capture of a vehicle; generating a signature of the vehicle from the capture; comparing the signature to a second signature; wherein the second signature is associated with an identified vehicle, the comparing resulting in a level of confidence; and if the level of confidence exceeds a threshold then identifying the vehicle as the identified vehicle.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A FUEL PUMP
20220122598 · 2022-04-21 ·

A method of controlling a fuel pump includes receiving a first set of data characterizing an audible activation word including a first voice pattern. Control of the fuel pump is authorized in response to the first voice pattern matching a stored voice pattern within a database. A second set of data characterizing an audible command word is received, where the audible command word includes a second voice pattern. The fuel pump is controlled based on the audible command word in response to the second voice pattern matching the stored voice pattern within the database.

System for controlling the dispensing of fuel or the like in a vending apparatus, particularly for private use
11763621 · 2023-09-19 · ·

A system for controlling the dispensing of fuel or the like in a vending apparatus, particularly for private use, comprising one or more dispensing assemblies, one or more mobile processing devices, and a central remote processing device, the mobile devices being configured to transmit data originating from the dispensing assemblies toward the central remote device. Each dispensing assembly comprises an electronic controller and dispensing element which comprise an electric pump, the electronic controller being configured to control electronically the electric pump of the dispensing element on the basis of the occurrence of an operating condition of the electrical and/or hydraulic type of the dispensing element of the dispensing assembly.

Systems and methods for coordinating remote fuel delivery to vehicles

Methods and systems are provided for conducting remote refueling events of a passenger vehicle, and for coordinating said remote refueling events with a fuel tank fill level prior to the remote refueling event, a loading state of a fuel vapor storage device, and current and predicted fuel tank pressure. In one example, an amount of fuel that can be added to the fuel tank without overwhelming a capacity of the fuel vapor storage device is increased responsive to scheduling the remote refueling event to take place at a time when the fuel tank is at a negative pressure, thus resulting in partial purge of the fuel vapor storage device prior to commencing refueling. In this way, environmentally friendly refueling events may be enabled, thus reducing the potential for undesired evaporative emissions during refueling events.

Fuel dispenser printer module

Fuel dispensers, systems and methods are provided for electronically transmitting data characterizing fueling transactions in a fueling environment, and in particular from a fuel dispenser. In an exemplary embodiment, a fuel dispenser is provided having a printer module that can perform operations that enable any one or more of replacing a printer, providing a user with a printed transaction record at a remote location, and/or provide the user with an electronic transaction record. The application of the printer module can facilitate providing a user with a printed and/or electronic transaction record, while minimizing, or eliminating, changes to standard communication protocol associated with components of a payment terminal that can deliver formatted transaction data to a typical printer. Minimizing or eliminating changes to standard communication protocol associated with providing users with transaction records can facilitate retrofitting the printer module to existing fuel dispensers, and/or simplify design considerations for new dispenser.

Systems and methods for generating a one-time use token for item purchase

Systems and methods are disclosed for payment system that uses one-time use tokens for securely facilitating and controlling user purchases using company funds. A user (e.g., driver) may generate a request to make a purchase using a user application. The request may be sent to a server running a payment system that may generate a one-time use token for the purchase of an item (e.g., fuel). The one-time use token may have an expiration time and may only be redeemable at certain locations (e.g., fueling stations) that have been preapproved. The system may send the user application running on the user device the token for purchasing fuel and approved locations. The user may input the token to a controller at an approved location which may request that the server authenticate the token and approve the purchase. Once authenticated and approved, the controller may permit the purchase of the desired item.

Fuel dispenser wired communication

Various methods, systems, and device are provided for facilitating communication between a fuel dispenser and a forecourt controller. In some embodiments, the methods, systems, and devices allow data to be combined and compressed for transmission through a reduced number of data connections, and then decompressed for transmission to the forecourt controller or components of the fuel dispenser. In certain exemplary embodiments, the compressing and decompressing can be performed by one or more signal combiners at the forecourt controller and the fuel dispenser.
