Systems and Methods for Supplying Fuel to a Vehicle
20190047843 · 2019-02-14 ·

In an example, a method of supplying fuel to a fuel tank of a vehicle includes supplying, via a fuel line, fuel to a fuel tank of a vehicle at an initial rate of fuel flow, which causes an electrostatic charge to accumulate on a surface of the fuel in the fuel tank. The method also includes exposing an air medium in the fuel tank to ionizing radiation to increase a level of ionization of an air medium in the fuel tank and increase a rate of dissipation of the electrostatic charge. The method includes determining the level of ionization of the air medium in the fuel tank, and determining an increased rate of fuel flow based on a difference between the determined level of ionization and a baseline level of ionization. The method further includes supplying the fuel to the fuel tank at the increased rate of fuel flow.

The fuel dispenser comprises a housing including a holster. A fuel dispensing nozzle is configured to mate with a holster. A port is configured to direct air into the holster and onto the nozzle. A controller is configured to control flow of the air through the port. The port may be attached to a blower located inside or outside of the dispenser using tubing. Alternatively, the port may be attached to a compressed air assembly. The compressed air assembly may include a pressure regulator configured to control the amount of air produced. A heater may heat the air flowing to the port. A pressure cap including a plurality of openings may be configured to seal the nozzle when the nozzle is mated with the holster.

Filling adapter (maintenance check)

A filling adapter for a container to be filled with media, in particular for the filling of containers on assembly lines for the production of motor vehicles where the filling adapter is equipped with a hose pack, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic lines. An electronic assembly (ID chip) for a maintenance check is integrated in the adapter head of the filling adapter, which assembly detects the number of use cycles of the filling adapter and compares said number with parameters which can be set in advance in such a way that when said parameters are approached, at least one prior warning is triggered, and when said parameters are reached, an associated controller is informed about the maintenance which is now due.

FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND FLUID DISPENSER

A fluid management system includes a fluid management controller and a fluid dispenser. The controller authorizes control of the one or more fluid management components over a wireless interface. A dispensing meter can be activated by an authentication device. The fluid meter includes a cartridge valve with a valve cartridge and a valve stem. The cartridge valve guides the valve stem and provides the only sealing surface for the dynamic seals and control seal disposed on the valve stem. The handheld meter dispenses through a nozzle, which includes an overmolded stem tip that generates a laminar fluid flow as the fluid exits the nozzle. The handheld fluid meter includes circuitry configured to invert the orientation of a visual output provided by a display of the handheld fluid meter to facilitate installation of the handheld fluid meter for use in an oil bar application.

An electromechanically operated fuel nozzle having at least four flow rate settings including maximum flow, minimum flow, and a plurality of intermediate flows. The fuel nozzle includes a plurality of solenoid valves, each configured to, upon actuation, permit a predetermined portion of the maximum flow through a fuel-dispensing pipe. The fuel nozzle also includes an electronic board configured to, in response to input indicating selection of a particular one of the flow rate settings, selectively actuate one or more of the solenoid valves such that the predetermined portions provide the particular one of the flow rate settings.

Fluid dispenser system

A fluid dispenser system is disclosed herein that is configured to switch between an open position in which fluid flows through a fluid channel and a closed position in which fluid is prevented from flowing through the fluid channel. The fluid dispenser system includes a valve disposed along the fluid channel and configured to move between the open valve position and the closed valve position, a trigger actuatable between an open trigger position and a closed trigger position which move the valve between the open valve position and the closed valve position, a trigger latch configured to move between a latched position in which the trigger latch fixes the trigger in the open trigger position and an unlatched position in which the trigger latch does not constrain movement of the trigger, and a solenoid with a solenoid pin. The solenoid is configured to translate the solenoid pin between an extended position capable of retaining the trigger latch in the latched position and a retracted position that allows the trigger latch to move into the unlatched position.

Fuel dispenser locking arrangement

The present invention provides a lockable fuel pump dispenser comprising a fuel outflow nozzle, locking means a transferring unit and a converter unit. The converter unit transferring a mechanical motion rendering a locking unit that is having locking means on the fuel outflow nozzle to fixate the fuel outflow nozzle securely inside a fuel tank of a vehicle.
