Processes and systems for recovery of solvents and target botanical compounds
Processes and systems for the recovery of solvents from a feedstock are provided, as well as processes and systems for the recovery of target botanical compounds. The processes and systems include a heated mixing device, in which a feedstock can be simultaneously mixed and heated to vaporize and release a solvent or botanical compound from the feedstock. The vaporized solvent or botanical compound can be condensed and collected as recovered solvent or a recovered botanical compound.
Cannabis production systems and methods
A vertically-integrated cannabis-related product production method is described, the method comprises, producing a distilled cannabinoid and/or a crystallized cannabinoid from cannabis plants, comprising: in a farming system, growing the cannabis plants, the cannabis plants comprise a cannabinoid; in an extraction system, extracting the cannabinoid from the cannabis plants; in a purification system, purifying the cannabinoid to produce a purified cannabinoid; and in a distillation and/or a crystallization system, distilling and/or crystallizing the purified cannabinoid to produce the distilled cannabinoid and/or the crystallized cannabinoid. Various ways to purify, distill, and process the cannabinoids are described. An insect pest management system may be integrated with the farming system to grow the cannabis plants in the presence of predatory mites which feed on insects and/or spider mites.
Method and apparatus for separating drill cuttings from drill mud
An apparatus for separating particles, such as drill cuttings, from a flowable substance, such as drilling mud, is provided. The apparatus comprises an inlet for entry of particles combined with the flowable substance; an outlet for exit of particles separated from the flowable substance; a movable screen located between the inlet and the outlet; and a wash unit for delivering a wash agent to the particles. The screen allows for passage of the flowable substance therethrough, and defines a path for passage of the particles between the inlet and the outlet. Delivery of the wash agent to the particles assists with separation of the particles from the flowable substance. Associated systems and methods are also provided.
Horizontal axis rotary separation apparatus and process
A horizontal axis rotary separation apparatus is deployed in a process for separating resinous trichomes rich in flavoring, aromatic and/or medicinal components produced in plant trichome glands from unwanted plant matter. The process physically separates resin rich beads at the trichome gland head from extraneous plant matter by one or move separation sieves. The sieves are provided in or as a casing over a rigid frame member. The sieves are mesh fabric bags or screen that are easily opened and replenished in a batch operating mode, and are removable from the frame for cleaning and maintenance. Other aspects of the invention include processes that improve process efficiency and speed, and yield products of superior quality.
METHODS OF REDUCING ODOR IN EXTRUDED LIGNIN AND EXTRUDED LIGNIN WITH REDUCED ODOR
Methods of reducing odiferous compounds in lignin, and reduced-odor lignin produced by the present methods. A solvent, for example a polar solvent such as ethanol, may be mixed with lignin in an extruder to remove odiferous compounds such as mercaptans and phenolic compounds. The polar solvent can then be boiled or evaporated out of the mixture to extract the odiferous compounds from the lignin.
Device and method for the continuous high-pressure treatment of bulk material and use thereof
An apparatus and method of high pressure treatment of bulk material by extraction and/or impregnation may involve treating bulk material in an internal volume of a pressure vessel apparatus at a high pressure level in a range from 40 to 1000 bar under isolation from the environment. The high pressure treatment may be performed charge-wise in a closed system in the pressure vessel apparatus in that the bulk material is supplied charge-wise to the internal volume with the pressure vessel apparatus closed and is positioned in at least one treatment plane. Upon completion of the high pressure treatment, the bulk material is discharged charge-wise from the internal volume with the pressure vessel apparatus closed. This also gives advantages in terms of handling, especially also with regard to material flow, and with regard to operational reliability.
INSECT AND CANNABIS PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Variable-scale, modular, easily manufacturable, energy efficient, reliable, and computer operated Insect Production Superstructure Systems (IPSS) and Farming Superstructure Systems (FSS) may be used to produce cannabis, insects, and psilocybin mushrooms for human and animal consumption, and for the extraction and use of lipids, drugs, and chemicals for applications involving medicine, nanotechnology, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, pet food, and chemical production with minimal water, feedstock, and environmental impact.
COMPOSITIONS THAT CONTAIN LIPOPHILIC PLANT MATERIAL AND SURFACTANT, AND RELATED METHODS
Described are liquid compositions that contain a desired (e.g., extracted) plant material such as cannabinoid, terpene, terpenoid, or the like, contained, e.g., dissolved, suspended, or emulsified, in the liquid, which contains surfactant; methods of preparing these types of liquid compositions; and methods of processing this type of liquid composition to collect, isolate, concentrate, or purify a desired target material contained in the liquid composition.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR THE EXTRACTION OF CANNABINOIDS
Provided herein are methods and systems that may be used to extract and refine cannabinoids and other natural substances from cannabis plants. The system may mix cannabis plant material with an alkaline water to produce a miscella of solubilized cannabinoids. The system may separate the miscella from the cannabis plant material. The system may acidify the miscella to precipitate the cannabinoids. The system separates the precipitated cannabinoids from the acidic solution. The system extracts on the precipitate to produce raffinate. The raffinate may then be purified and/or an isolated be produced.
Rotary Separation Apparatus and Process
A rotary separation apparatus is deployed in a process for separating resinous trichomes rich in flavoring, aromatic and/or medicinal components produced in plant trichome glands from unwanted plant matter. A liquid freezing agent is introduced into a container of the plant matter to fragment the undesirable matter while the desired portion rich in trichome remain intact.
