Light bait
A lamp for use under water, comprising: an electrical lighting device, electrical connections for the power supply of the electrical lighting device, and a housing, wherein the housing is translucent at least in sections and defines a watertightly closable hollow space, wherein the electrical lighting device and the electrical connections are arranged within the hollow space, wherein the housing forms a mechanical shell surrounding the hollow space, the mechanical shell having a double curvature at each point of the shell; and a use of the lamp as a light bait when fishing.
LIGHT BAIT
A lamp for use under water having an electrical multicolor light source, electrical connections for the power supply of the electrical multicolor light source, a controller configured to control the light color emitted by the electrical multicolor light source, and a housing, wherein the housing is translucent at least in sections and defines a water tight closable hollow space, wherein the electrical multicolor light source and the electrical connections are arranged within the hollow space, wherein the housing forms a mechanical shell surrounding the hollow space, the mechanical shell having a double curvature at each point of the shell; and a use of the lamp as a light bait when fishing.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANIPULATING FISH
Certain types of fish respond differently to certain stimuli than other types of fish. Particularly, predetermined sound or vibration can cause certain types of fish to move away or jump. These reactions by particular types of fish can be used to capture the fish or prevent then from accessing parts of water systems. An exemplary capture mechanism employs multiple receptacles adapted to catch jumping fish from the air. An exemplary barrier of directed sound can prevent fish migration.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WATER INTAKE AND PRETREATMENT SYSTEM
A water intake and pretreatment system (10) comprising an inlet for delivering water from a natural source to a reservoir (12); said inlet to reservoir having a net screen (16) to prevent entry of organisms above a predetermined size and including a one-way gate (30) to allow organisms to exit the reservoir; said reservoir further comprising a granular filter media for water and algae filtration; and a drainage layer for removal of filtered water from the granular filter media to a drainage outlet. A local backwashing apparatus (40) is included for localized backwashing of the granular filter media.
Method for Guiding Underwater Organisms, and System for Guiding Underwater Organisms
Disclosed is a method for guiding aquatic organisms. The method includes disposing a plurality of electrode units at a distance from one another in water; and applying an electrical pulse to at least one electrode unit of the plurality of electrode units to generate an electric field and/or a magnetic field around the at least one electrode unit to guide the aquatic organisms by stimulating the aquatic organisms with the generated electric and/or magnetic fields.
Acoustic device for forming a wall of sound underwater
An acoustic device for forming a wall of sound underwater. Walls of sound are useful in water for guiding fish away from areas. Hitherto, systems have used bubbles of water to facilitate the speed of travel of the sound. Those systems have suffered from the ability to maintain a consistent wall of bubbles and have often been inefficient. The present invention seeks to provide an acoustic device for forming a wall of sound underwater and comprises a transducer connected to an acoustic waveguide. The waveguide comprises one or more projections, whereby sound generated by the transducer travels along the projection or projections to form the wall of sound. The waveguide may typically comprise compressible projections formed from neoprene. These projections are arranged in a fan or frond shape. In addition or alternatively, the projections may be laminar. The projections could be of different lengths.

MOTORIZED AQUATIC ANIMAL DETERRENT
A motorized, floating device is associated with another aquatic device that carries a passenger or passengers (associated aquatic device). The invention comprises components such as one or more magnetic field emitters that deter aquatic animals from approaching the associated aquatic device without interfering with the operation of the associated aquatic device. The associated aquatic device may be a surfboard, a raft, a personal watercraft, or other similar small craft that floats in water. The invention may be used with larger boats and other watercraft. The motorized aquatic animal deterrent is tethered to the associated aquatic device to follow movement of the associated aquatic device but is spaced apart from the associated aquatic device.
