Methods for cleaning filtration system media

The present disclosure provides improved methods for conducting a wash cycle in a filtration unit. The methods may be used alone or in combination with one another to achieve the improvements described herein. Filtration units adapted for carrying out the novel methods are also provided. Through the use of the methods and filtration units described, significant economic benefits are obtained without a significant increase in the costs of the filtration unit or in the costs of operation of the filtration unit.

A regenerative filter that includes a filter housing having inlet and outlet zones; a fluid path provided between the inlet and outlet zones; a plurality of filter elements each having an outer surface filter media applied thereto and functioning to filter particulate or contaminants from the fluid path; and a tube sheet that is supported across the filter housing, that is disposed just before the outlet zone and that provides the support for the plurality of filter elements. The filter element includes: a base, wherein the base is installed on the filter device, and a first passage and a second passage are disposed at least partially in the base; and a filter body, wherein the filter body is detachably connected to an upper part of the base, the filter body has a filter space therein, a first filter passage and a second filter passage are connected and arranged on the two ends of the filter space, and a filter material for filtration is provided in the filter space. When the filter element is in a working state, the first filter passage and the first passage are connected for fluid communication, and the second filter passage and the second passage are connected for fluid communication.

Furthermore, the present disclosure relates to a method of mechanically filtering a liquid. A plurality of mechanical filter elements (2) each comprising one or more filter cell (19) are disposed in a filter chamber (10). During filtration, the liquid flows through the filter chamber (10) to establish a static filter pack (11) of said mechanical filter elements (2) to mechanically filter the liquid.
