Regenerative media filtration

A regenerative filter that includes a filter housing having inlet and outlet zones; a fluid path provided between the inlet and outlet zones; a plurality of filter elements each having an outer surface filter media applied thereto and functioning to filter particulate or contaminants from the fluid path; and a tube sheet that is supported across the filter housing, that is disposed just before the outlet zone and that provides the support for the plurality of filter elements. The plurality of filter elements are disposed in an array and includes bridging members or elements that connect between adjacent filter elements, and that forms with the filter elements, a closed interstitial space between adjacent filter elements for liquid flow; a nanoscale barrier on interior surfaces, including that of the regenerative media itself, providing a mechanism to disrupt the cell wall of microscopic viruses and organisms.

Outside-in water purification system

An outside-in liquid purification system includes a housing and a cartridge. The housing defines an interior space and includes an inlet, an outlet, walls extending between a top side and a bottom side, and an unfiltered volume. The cartridge is disposed within the interior space and includes a top cap adjacent the top side of the housing configured to direct liquid that enters the interior space to the unfiltered volume and a filter having an annular shape and extending between the top cap and the bottom side of the housing such that no portion of the unfiltered volume is below the filter with the filter defining a hollow vertical column such that liquid flows from the unfiltered volume through the filter into the column and then downward out of the housing through the outlet.

Outside-in water purification system

An outside-in liquid purification system includes a housing and a cartridge. The housing defines an interior space and includes an inlet, an outlet, walls extending between a top side and a bottom side, and an unfiltered volume. The cartridge is disposed within the interior space and includes a top cap adjacent the top side of the housing configured to direct liquid that enters the interior space to the unfiltered volume and a filter having an annular shape and extending between the top cap and the bottom side of the housing such that no portion of the unfiltered volume is below the filter with the filter defining a hollow vertical column such that liquid flows from the unfiltered volume through the filter into the column and then downward out of the housing through the outlet.

A waterproof, non-toxic, and reusable filter media retaining cup having molded construction, a non-compartmentalized interior space, and a perimeter wall with a preferred slight top-to-bottom taper extending between a radial flange and an opposed bottom end having spaced-apart perforations and a non-perforated center area. The outwardly-extending radial flange depends from the top of the perimeter wall and spaced-apart slits through the perimeter wall's bottom portion extend to the bottom end and are preferably downwardly-widening. WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM

A water purification system (100) is provided and includes: a composite filter cartridge assembly (1), a booster pump (4), a waste-water solenoid valve (7) and a water storage device. The composite filter cartridge assembly (1) includes a filter casing (11) and a composite filter cartridge (12). A pretreated-water outlet (114) of the filter casing (11) is connected with a water-output end of a pretreating filter cartridge (121) of the composite filter cartridge (12) and with the booster pump (4). A pretreated-water inlet (115) of the filter casing (11) is connected with a water-input end of a fine filter cartridge (122) of the composite filter cartridge (12) and with the booster pump (4). A purified-water port (116) of the filter casing (11) is connected with a water-output end of the fine filter cartridge (122), a water-input end of a mouthfeel-improving filter cartridge (123) of the composite filter cartridge (12) and the water storage device.

The bottom endcap can block fluid flow into the end of the cylindrical filter. The filter cartridge includes an impermeable bladder which may be coupled to the outer surface of each endcap such that the bladder completely encloses the filter media. Fluid entering the system passes through ingress channel of the flow bypass endcap into bladder (which surrounds the filter and isolates the fluid from the filter housing).
