WATER RETENTION BARRIER
A fuel water separator comprises a housing that defines an internal volume that receives a mixture. The fuel water separator further comprises a filter element that is positioned within the internal volume. The filter element comprises a first endplate and a second endplate that is located opposite the first endplate. The filter element further comprises a filter media that is coupled to the first endplate and the second endplate. The filter media is structured to separate a dispersed phase from a continuous phase of the mixture. The filter element further comprises a collection sump that is located below the first and second endplate and structured to receive the dispersed phase. The filter element further comprises a retention barrier disposed above the collection sump. The retention barrier comprises a drain opening structured to discharge the dispersed phase through the retention barrier into the collection sump.
FILTER ELEMENT
A filter assembly includes a ring of filter media, a first end cap, a second end cap, a first seal, and a second seal. The first end cap is coupled to a first end of the filter media. The second end cap is coupled to a second end of the filter media and includes (i) a radially extending portion having a first opening and (ii) a first axially extending portion having a stepped ledge defining a first inner diameter. The first seal is supported by the second end cap and includes a second opening defining a second inner diameter that is less than the first inner diameter. The second seal is supported by the second end cap and includes a third opening defining a third inner diameter that is greater than the first and second inner diameters. The stepped ledge is disposed between the first seal and the second seal.
Filter assembly having an outer filter element and an inner filter element removably installed within the outer filter element
A filter assembly for filtering water in spas, swimming pools, hot tubs and whirlpools, having a first or outer filter element, a second or inner filter element removably installed within the outer filter element, a first coupling member associated with the outer filter element, a second coupling member associated with the inner filter element, the first and second coupling members engaging one another to connect the inner filter element with the outer filter element, and a releasable detent arrangement resisting disengagement of the first and second coupling members from one another. The outer filter element includes a filter medium for mechanically removing particulates from a fluid to be treated and the inner filter element includes a filter medium containing fluid purifying particles.

Portable pool filter cleaning system and method of cleaning a pool filter
A portable pool filter cleaning assembly is configured to retain a pool filter on support rod and allow the pool filter to spin from a spray of water. The spinning filter releases debris from the filter surface through centrifugal force. The assembly has drainage features to ensure proper drainage of water collected within the interior of the pool filter and enable proper spinning from the spray of water. The assembly utilizes a support rod with a bottom filter retainer that is conical in shape for engaging with the pool filter aperture. The bottom filter retainer may further have a bearing that enables the pool filter to rotate freely about the rod with very little force. The assembly may include a stand for securing the support rod on a hard surface, such as concrete or on an uneven lawn surface.

Filter element and filter assembly
A filter element has a first follower element with a first traction surface and a second follower element with a second traction surface provided for interacting with first and second mating surfaces of the filter housing, respectively. The first and second traction surfaces interact with the first and second mating surfaces to pull out the filter element from the filter housing. The first and second traction surfaces are spaced apart from each other along a longitudinal axis of the filter element and project radially into the interior of the filter element. At least one of the first and second follower elements has a stop surface adjoining circumferentially the respective traction surface. In a position of use, the stop surface interacts with a counter stop surface of the filter housing to form an at least unidirectional rotational degree of freedom blocking about the longitudinal axis relative to the filter housing.
