MULTILAYER CELLULAR MEMBRANES FOR FILTRATION APPLICATIONS
A filter includes a fibrous substrate having a plurality of coextruded first polymer material fibers and second polymer material fibers. Each of the first and second fibers are separated from each other and have a rectangular cross-section defined in part by an additional encapsulating polymer material that is separated from the first polymer material fibers and second polymer material fibers. The fibrous substrate has a pore size range of between about 0.1 m to about 0.4 m.
Antiviral formulation, antiviral filtering material, methods of preparation thereof and antiviral face mask
A first subject of the present invention has an antiviral formulation with metallic copper particles in an unoxidized form and having a median particle diameter inferior or equal to 200 nm, graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide, and a bonding matrix material. A second subject of the invention has an antiviral filtering material with a layer of textile and at least one layer of an antiviral coating comprising metallic copper particles in an unoxidized form and having a median particle diameter inferior or equal to 200 nm, graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide, and a bonding matrix into which both metallic copper particles and graphene oxide or reduced graphene oxide are anchored. The invention also concerns methods of preparation of the antiviral formulation and of the antiviral filtering material. Finally, the invention includes an antiviral face mask with a layer of textile coated with the antiviral formulation.
Plasma Activated Biochar Filter
A plasma activated biochar filter is provided. In another aspect, Fluorine-based reactive gas is used in a plasma reactor to activate biochar. A further aspect employs a substrate flocked with plasma activated biochar. Yet another aspect employs plasma activated and fluorinated biochar on a porous substrate to act as an oil-fluid separating filter.
3D printed filter center tube
A filter has a filter center tube that includes a plurality of layers of solidified material including a first layer with a first undulating strip of solidified material extending in a first predetermined direction, and a second layer with a second undulating strip of solidified material extending in a second predetermined direction. The first layer is in contact with the second layer and the first predetermined direction is not parallel with the second predetermined direction, forming a plurality of pores therebetween.
Filtration Media for Filtration/Purification of a Liquid or Gas, Related Reactor Modules, Filtration Devices and Methods
The invention includes a filtration medium for the purification of a liquid or a gas material that includes a mat having a first surface and a second surface. At least one of the first surface or the second surface is substantially non-planar. The mat comprises a foamed resin having a density of about 1 lbs/ft3 to about 3 lbs to ft3 and/or an indentation load deflection of about 35 lbs to about 150 lbs.
Also included in the invention is a filtration medium for the purification of a liquid or a gas material comprising at least two mats, each mat having a first surface and a second surface, wherein at least one of the first surface or the second surface is substantially non-planar and has a substantially non-uniform convolution profile. Included are devices for the filtration of a liquid and/or gas that comprise one or more reactor modules. The reactor modules include the filtration medium and a substantially cylindrical chamber and/or a substantially rectangular chamber that may include sides, a top and a bottom. The chamber additionally includes a base that extends from the sides of the chamber towards the interior of the chamber and the filtration medium is disposed within the chamber.
Methods of filtering a gas or liquid material using the filtration medium are also provided, as are methods of fabrication of the modules.
Filtration media including porous polymeric material and degradable shape memory material
A fluid control device includes a support structure configured to be deployed to a selected location in a borehole, and a filtration medium disposed at the support structure and configured to filter a fluid, the filtration medium configured to be compacted from an initial shape to a compacted shape prior to deployment in the borehole. The filtration medium includes a first polymeric material configured to withstand a temperature at the selected location, the first polymeric material forming a porous structure including a plurality of fluid passages, and a second polymeric material including a shape memory polymer disposed within the fluid passages, the shape memory polymer configured to expand in the plurality of fluid passages and cause the filtration medium to expand in the borehole.
Beta-cyclodextrin-based monoliths through emulsion templating
Provided herein is a porous -cyclodextrin-containing monolith having a microstructure templated by the external phase of a HIPE, as well as processes of manufacturing the same and uses thereof.
Filter for an air-conditioning system of a vehicle and a method of installing such a filter
A filter for an air conditioner has a body formed of an air-transmissive material. The body is of a generally rectangular configuration and has a top, bottom, a front, a back and a pair of sides. The body has a plurality of cuts formed through a thickness thereof. The plurality of cuts define a plurality of cubical members frangibly connected together. The plurality of cubical members are separable from a remainder of the body such that the body has a size suitable for being received within a filter-receiving receptacle of the air conditioner.
GAS FILTERS COMPRISING A MATRIX MATERIAL AND A CARBON DIOXIDE SORBENT
The present invention provides a gas filter comprising an active element and a housing structure for said active element, said housing structure comprising a gas inlet and a gas outlet, said active element comprising or consisting of: a matrix material; a CO.sub.2 sorbent; and water, wherein at least some of the CO.sub.2 sorbent is embedded within the matrix material.
AIR FILTER, LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE, AND AIR FILTER MANUFACTURING METHOD
An air filter includes a first urethane portion made of polyurethane foam and having air permeability and a second urethane portion made of polyurethane foam and disposed so as to overlap with a part of the first urethane portion. The second urethane portion is higher in density than the first urethane portion. The first urethane portion and the second urethane portion are integrated with each other in a state where the second urethane portion is incorporated in the part of the first urethane portion.
