SIDE-COVERED AXIAL FLOW FILTER
A side-covered axial flow filter has a housing, a filter core, a filter frame, and a side cover. When assembling, the filter frame and the filter core are both obliquely installed into the housing. Limiting ribs of the filter frame are obliquely mounted between first pushing panels and a clamping surface of the housing, and inner pushing parts of the limiting ribs abut the first pushing panels. The portions where the inner pushing parts abut the first pushing panels serve as fulcrums to straighten the filter core and the filter frame, so outer pushing parts of the limiting ribs may abut the clamping surfaces of the housing and generate a strong torque and a tightly sealing effect without much effort. The side cover also abuts the filter frame when assembled on the housing, so the filter frame is under balanced pressure to avoid leak.

An exhaust purifying device provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine comprises: a column-shaped honeycomb carrier; a cylindrical case member adapted to house the honeycomb carrier; a holding member provided between the honeycomb carrier and the case member to surround the outer circumference of the honeycomb carrier; buffer members provided on a peripheral edge of the edge surface of at least one side of an inflow side edge surface and an outflow side edge surface of the honeycomb carrier so as to regulate the movement of the honeycomb carrier in the central axis X direction; and setting members secured to the case member to regulate the movement of the buffer members by allowing their position regulation parts to contact the buffer members; wherein the buffer members are provided, on the outer circumferential sides, with recesses into which the position regulation parts of the setting members are fitted.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An exhaust gas purifying device includes: a columnar honeycomb carrier provided in an exhaust channel; a tubular case member housing the honeycomb carrier; and a retaining member surrounding the outer circumference of the honeycomb carrier. The honeycomb carrier has, in the outer circumferential edge of an inlet-side end face and an outlet-side end face, respectively, sloped surfaces sloped toward a direction in which the length in the center axis direction of the honeycomb carrier decreases. Of the retaining member, ends in the center axis direction of the honeycomb carrier extend to the sloped surfaces of the honeycomb carrier, and the ends have tapered parts which are longer in the center axis direction of the honeycomb carrier on the side facing the case member than on the side facing the honeycomb carrier.
Exhaust gas treating device, temperature raising method of catalyst, regeneration method of honeycomb structure, and ash removing method
An exhaust gas treating device includes a honeycomb structure including an inner honeycomb structure body, an outer honeycomb structure body disposed at a position which surrounds a part of a circumference of the inner honeycomb structure body and is away from the inner inflow end face of the inner honeycomb structure body, and plugging portions arranged in parts of cells; a can member which stores the honeycomb structure and has an inlet and a second outlet for an exhaust gas; and an opening/closing valve to open and close the second outlet of the can member.
Exhaust gas treating device and manufacturing method of honeycomb structure
An exhaust gas treating device includes a honeycomb structure including an inner honeycomb structure body including a honeycomb substrate having porous inner partition walls and a circumferential wall disposed at a circumference of the honeycomb substrate, an outer honeycomb structure body disposed at a position which surrounds a part of a circumference of the inner honeycomb structure body and is away from the inner inflow end face, and plugging portions; and a can member storing the honeycomb structure. The can member includes an inflow tube and a barrel portion which is continuous with the inflow tube, and in the barrel portion an outlet is formed, the honeycomb structure is stored in the can member in a state of having a clearance between a second end face and the can member and having a clearance between the outer outflow end face and the can member.
HONEYCOMB BODY THERMAL BARRIER, EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT ARTICLE, EXHAUST SYSTEM, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SAME
An exhaust system includes an exhaust gas treatment article having a porous ceramic honeycomb body mounted in a housing. The exhaust gas treatment article includes a thermal barrier disposed at the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb body, wherein the thermal barrier comprises blocked peripheral cell channels adjacent to and around the entire peripheral surface and/or a thermal barrier skin.
Exhaust gas purifying device of internal-combustion engine, and method of manufacturing same
An exhaust gas purifying device includes: a columnar honeycomb carrier in which a plurality of cells which extend from an exhaust gas inflow side to an outflow side, and which serve as exhaust gas flow paths, are demarcated and formed by means of porous separating walls, a three-way catalyst supported in the honeycomb carrier, and a cylindrical case member in which the honeycomb carrier is housed, with the interposition of a retaining member. The honeycomb carrier includes outer circumferential plugging portions formed in such a way as to plug, to a prescribed depth, openings of cells in an outer circumferential portion of at least one end surface of the two end surfaces, in the central axis X-direction, of the honeycomb carrier, and inclined portions formed in a direction whereby the length, in the central axis X-direction, of the outer circumferential plugging portions decreases toward the outer circumferential edge.
ASSEMBLED FILTERS FOR THE FILTRATION OF LIQUIDS
A membrane filter includes a plurality of honeycomb ceramic filtering elements, each element including a plurality of parallel ducts separated by walls and open on a face for introduction of the liquid to be filtered, an interstitial volume between the filtering elements, a filtration membrane positioned on the inner surface of the walls of the ducts, wherein the filtering elements are joined together by a curable material that forms after curing a sleeve in the form of a single part joining together, by sealing, all of the filtering elements separated the interstitial volume, the sleeve having a thickness e between 1% and 10% of the length of the filter, and the curable material being present in the open porosity and through the entire thickness of each porous wall forming the elements, over a minimum non-zero height h.
Honeycomb assembly and packaging system
A packaging system for honeycomb assemblies, each including a honeycomb body and reinforcing tube held together by an interference fit or axial compression achieved by thermal expansion coefficient differences between the honeycomb body and reinforcing tube. The reinforcing tube then protects the honeycomb body, facilitating a compact and structurally-strong package.
