The technology disclosed herein generally relates to fluted filter assemblies, where flutes formed in the filter media extend from a first flow face of the filter assembly to a second flow face of the filter assembly, where one flow face is an inlet and one flow face is the outlet. Some embodiments relate to first flute distance between the first flow face and the second flow face differing from a second flute distance between the first flow face and the second flow face by greater than 2 mm. In some embodiments at least one of the first flow face and the second flow face is non-planar, while in other embodiments at both of the first flow face and the second flow face are planar and non-parallel. Other embodiments are described.

Filter elements and methods of manufacturing filter elements

A filter element, for placement in a housing of a filter system, includes a filter medium pack and a seal arrangement having a seal and a seal carrier. The filter medium pack includes, for example, a pleated filter medium or a fluted filter medium. The seal carrier includes an axial side coupled to at least a portion of an axial face of the filter medium pack by a thermal welding manufacturing process. The coupling of the seal to the seal carrier is obtainable by manufacturing the seal arrangement with a multi-material injection molding manufacturing process. The present disclosure further relates to a method for manufacturing a filter element, the method including steps of thermal welding and multi-material injection molding.

Filter assemblies and elements utilizing multilayered and wrapped filter media

A filter assembly comprises a filter element and an outlet flange. The filter element comprises a filter media pack comprising a plurality of filter media layers stacked on top of each other to form the filter media pack. The filter media pack has an inlet surface being at an inlet portion of the filter media pack, and an outlet surface being at an outlet portion of the filter media pack. An outlet flange is coupled to the outlet portion of the filter media pack.

Filter element configurations

The current technology relates to various filter elements configurations where a substrate layer defines a surface having a treatment. The treatment increases a roll off angle of the surface for a 50 water droplet when the surface is immersed in toluene. The filter element can have a housing and the substrate disposed in the housing. In some embodiments the substrate layer defines a plurality of pleats extending between pleat folds that form flow faces of the media. In some embodiments the substrate is incorporated into single facer media of a filter element. In some embodiments the substrate layer is incorporated in a filter element having a flow-by configuration. In some embodiments the substrate layer is incorporated in a filter element having a cross-flow configuration. Some embodiments relate to a vent. Some embodiments relate to a barrier assembly and/or a fuel filter element. Various other filter elements are described.

TWO-STAGE AIR CLEANER SYSTEM WITH SIDE-POSITIONED PRE-CLEANER AND PRE-CLEANER

A two-stage air cleaner simple in structure, low in costs, compact and reliable, with automatic dust discharge function. The two-stage air cleaner system can include a main air cleaner and a pre-cleaner positioned at a side of a primary filter cartridge of the main air cleaner. The primary filter cartridge has a dirty side facing downwards and an opposite clean side. The pre-filtered air enters the primary filter cartridge from the dirty side for filtration, and the filtered clean air exits the clean side through an air outlet downstream of the primary filter cartridge. In use, dusts and impurities adsorbed in open channels inside the primary filter cartridge fall into a dust removal arrangement beneath the primary filter cartridge under mechanical vibration and gravity, to automatically discharge from the primary air cleaner, so as to prolong the service life of the primary filter cartridge.

Filter cartridges; air cleaner assemblies; housings; features; components; and, methods

Air cleaner assemblies, components, and features are described. The features can be used to provide that the air cleaner assembly cannot be fully closed, even if a cartridge is nested therein, and appears to be sealed, unless that cartridge is a proper one for the system of concern. The effect is to prevent an inappropriate cartridge, that does not properly seal, from being inadvertently installed in the assembly.

Filter element with flow directing permeability layers

A media pack includes a filtration sheet and a support sheet that is made from a different material than the filtration sheet. The filtration sheet is coupled to the support sheet. The support sheet is corrugated such that, together, the filtration sheet and the support sheet form a plurality of channels. The channels are alternately sealed on opposing ends of the media pack. In one embodiment, the permeability of the support sheet is less than a permeability of the filtration sheet.
