Radial adsorber with radial circulation of gas
A radial adsorber comprising: an adsorbent mass containing particles, a cylindrical shell ring extending along a longitudinal axis that is vertical when the adsorber is in operation, an external grid and an internal grid arranged in such a way as to be permeable to the gas and impermeable to the particles, the internal grid and external grid between them forming an annular volume housing the adsorbent mass, an internal chamber located between the vertical longitudinal axis and the internal grid, an external chamber located between the external grid and the shell ring, the internal chamber and external chamber being intended for the circulation of the gas, the external grid being formed by a plurality of wires and a plurality of supports, the supports being mounted transversely to the wires, the supports and the wires being mounted secured to one another.
Carbon scrubber
Wastewater treatment and conveyance; and other chemical processes result in emission of a wide variety of odorous compounds. Contaminated exhaust air is typically a byproduct emitted from sludge in tanks and wells that are part of a wastewater treatment, conveyance, or chemical process. Said contaminated air has to be treated to capture or reduce odorous compounds or pollutants below human smell recognition threshold levels before the exhaust is discharged to the atmosphere. The present invention is a carbon scrubber used to treat and filter contaminated exhaust air produced in wastewater treatment and conveyance; and other chemical processes.
Radial air purification system for removal of contaminants from a gas and methods of fabrication
A radial air purification system, a method of forming the purification system, and methods of removing at least one contaminant from a gas using the purification system are provided. The radial air purification system includes adsorbent media tubular supports that are fabricated using a fiberglass grating structure to provide increased strength, corrosion resistance, reduction in weight, and lower fabrication costs.
Particle Loading Method and Apparatus for a Radial Flow Vessel
Particle loading assembly and method for loading particles into a vessel to form a densely packed particle bed comprising an inner layer of particles and an outer layer of particles. The inner layer of particles is arranged radially and concentric with the outer layer of particles. The inner layer of particles contains at least a first type of particle of different granulometry or range of composition or both granulometry and range of composition from a second type of particles contained in the outer layer.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING FLOW IN RADIAL FLOW REACTOR
A radial flow distribution system, a radial flow reactor, and components thereof, including one or more of a scallop, center pipe, and/or outer basket. Each of the scallop, the center pipe, and the outer basket has openings formed therein. wherein the sizes or the shapes of the openings vary along the length or the width of the reactor components such that the openings define a pattern in configured to manipulate and optimize the distribution of flow of feedstock out of the components and through the reactor to maximize the efficiency of the catalyst reaction thereof.
Adsorber with rotary dryer
A (V)PSA unit for purifying a gas stream by adsorption is provided. The (V)PSA unit comprises, arranged successively in the direction of flow of the feed gas stream, a rotary-structured adsorbent wheel configured so as to drive the gas stream therethrough in an axial manner and allowing the feed gas to dry to a level corresponding to a dew point below 30 C., and an adsorber with a centripetal radial configuration, comprising a bed of particulate adsorbent.
Systems and methods for improving flow in radial flow reactor
A scallop, center pipe, and outer basket for use in a radial flow reactor are provided. Each of the scallop, the center pipe, and the outer basket is formed of an elongated conduit having a top end and an opposing bottom end, and a plurality of openings formed in the elongated conduit through a thickness thereof. A diameter of the plurality of openings progressively increases or decreases from the top end to the opposing bottom end of the elongated conduit so as to allow a feedstock to flow radially out through the plurality of openings on the scallop or outer basket, or to allow a feedstock to flow uniformly into the center pipe through the plurality of openings. A system utilizing the center pipe together with either the scallop or the outer basket is also provided.
Tapered conduits for reactors
An apparatus is provided for directing a fluid in a radial reactor comprising: a vertically elongated conduit comprising a front face comprising a surface comprising apertures, two side faces, and a rear face and two ends, wherein an end of the front face and an end of the rear face are a distance D1 apart and wherein a second opposite end of the front face and a second corresponding end of the rear face are a distance D2 apart wherein D1 is greater than D2 and wherein a riser are connected to a top surface of said vertically elongated conduit to allow a gas stream to flow through the riser to the vertically elongated conduit.
Regenerative separating device for separating impurities from an airflow
An improved regenerative separating device for separating impurities from an airflow, in particular a process exhaust airflow, provides a better distribution of the airflow in an annular gap between a rotary separating unit including a plurality of filter blocks for adsorbing impurities from the airflow and a circumferential wall of a housing incorporating the rotary separating unit. The airflow inlet provided in the circumferential wall for introducing the airflow into the annular gap and a regeneration system for regenerating the filter blocks of the rotary separating unit by a regenerating stream passing through the filter blocks to desorb impurities adsorbed in the filter blocks are both positioned in the same circumferential sector of maximum 180 degrees.
A GAS TREATMENT ELEMENT AND A METHOD OF FORMING A GAS TREATMENT ELEMENT
A method of forming a gas treatment element for use in a gas treatment apparatus, such as a desiccant dryer, is disclosed. The element is formed by casting a sheet material by phase inversion of a dope mixture including a solvent, an adsorbent material such as a desiccant and a polymer binder. Layers of the sheet material are located adjacent one another and this is most readily achieved by rolling the sheet material to form the gas treatment element.
