CARRIER GAS RECLAMATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A carrier gas recovery system for use in cold spray manufacturing recovers carrier gas utilized during the cold spray process and recycles the carrier gas for immediate use or stores the carrier gas for future use. The carrier gas recovery system includes an enclosure subsystem, a filtration subsystem, a reclamation subsystem, and a compensation subsystem. An article is placed in the enclosure and particulate matter is carried to the article on a carrier gas stream. Carrier gas in the enclosure is filtered through the filtration subsystem to remove particulate from the carrier gas, and the filtered carrier gas is fed to the reclamation subsystem. The carrier gas either flows to a gas separator, to increase the concentration of carrier gas, or to the compensation subsystem if the carrier gas concentration is sufficiently high. The carrier gas can be stored in the compensation subsystem or used in further cold spray manufacturing.

Method and system for preventing and treating pests using smoke from biomass power plant

A method for pest control in a confined space using flue gas from a biomass power plant. The method includes: treating flue gas from a biomass power plant to yield treated flue gas having a volume concentration of carbon dioxide exceeding 85 volume %, and conducting pest control in a confined space according to the following steps: continuously aerating the confined space with the treated flue gas during a fallow period to allow a gas pressure in the confined space to reach between 0.110 and 0.140 megapascal of absolute pressure and the volume concentration of carbon dioxide in the confined space to reach between 50 and 90 volume %.

An LED lighting fixture powered by a Metal-Organic Framework heat battery. The heat battery is formed of a canister, a MOF container comprised of a plurality of MOF tunnels, each MOF tunnel containing a powdered MOF material, a gate, and a plurality of thermoelectric devices. Below a certain adsorption activation temperature, the MOF material adsorbs a gas from the atmosphere. Above a certain desorption activation temperature, the MOF desorbs the gas. The heat from the adsorption is used to generate electrical current. The desorbed gas is captured to remove it from the atmosphere.
