PROCESSES FOR GAS SEPARATION BY SOLVENT OR ABSORBENT
Solvent absorption processes for separating components of an impure feed gas are disclosed. The processes involve two stages of gas purification. The acid gases including hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and other sulfur compounds are simultaneously removed from the feed gas by contact with a physical solvent in two stages. The subject matter disclosed provides improved processes to reduce the operating costs of the system.
THIN-FILM TREATMENT OF HIGH-VALUE GLYCOL AND AMINE SOLVENTS TO REMOVE CONTAMINANTS
A method for cleaning a contaminated solvent used to treat a gas stream, for example a contaminated glycol or a contaminated amine stream, by vacuum evaporation using a mechanically-maintained horizontally-orientated thin film evaporator, where the contaminant material is recovered from the thin film in solvent-free form, as either a heavy organic material or as free flowing salts.
Configurations and methods of flexible CO2 removal
A plant comprises a feed gas source, H2S removal unit, first absorber and a second, pressure reduction stages, first and second heat exchangers, stripping unit, and a conduit. The H2S removal unit selectively removes H2S from a feed gas from the feed gas source to produce an H2S depleted feed gas. The first absorber and the second absorber remove CO2 from the H2S depleted feed gas using a semi-lean and an ultralean solvent to produce a product gas and a rich solvent. The plurality of pressure reduction stages generates a cooled flashed solvent. The first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger use the cooled flashed solvent to cool the H2S depleted feed gas and the semi-lean solvent. The stripping unit strips the flashed solvent with dried air to produce the ultralean solvent, and the conduit combines a portion of the ultralean solvent with the H2S depleted feed gas.

PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING A SOUR SYNTHESIS GAS
Processes and apparatuses for treating a sour synthesis gas are provided. The process comprises passing the sour synthesis gas stream to an acid gas removal unit to provide a treated synthesis gas stream and a CO.sub.2 rich stream. At least a portion of the CO.sub.2 rich stream is passed to a thermal oxidizer unit to provide a treated CO.sub.2 gas stream. At least a portion of the treated synthesis gas stream is passed to a pressure swing adsorption unit to obtain a purified hydrogen stream and a tail gas stream. At least a portion of the tail gas stream is passed to the thermal oxidizer unit.
Desulfurization and denitration agent
A desulfurization and denitration agent which is a mixture of polyalcohol and/or polyglycol substances, polycarboxylic acid substances and alkaline substances heated to above 90 C. and yielding, after condensation and/or polymerization, macromolecular or high-polymer ethers and/or esters for use in removing sulfur dioxides and/or nitrogen oxides from gases.
GAS TREATMENT METHOD AND GAS TREATMENT DEVICE
A gas treatment device uses a gas to be treated which contains an acid compound that dissolves into water to produce acid and a treatment liquid which absorbs the acid compound to phase-separate, to separate an acid compound from the gas to be treated. The gas treatment device includes an absorber which brings the gas to be treated into contact with the treatment liquid; a regenerator 14 which heats the treatment liquid contacting the gas to be treated to separate an acid compound; and a liquid feeding portion which feeds the treatment liquid contacting the gas to be treated in the absorber to the regenerator. In the absorber, the treatment liquid contacting the gas to be treated phase-separates into a first phase portion having a high acid compound content and a second phase portion having a low acid compound content. The liquid feeding portion is configured to introduce, into the regenerator, the treatment liquid with the phase-separated first phase portion and second phase portion mixed.
Method of enhancing removal of gaseous contaminants from a feedstream in a treatment chamber having liquid medium
Contaminants, such as volatile organic compounds and hydrogen sulfide, may be removed from a gaseous feedstream by introducing the gaseous feedstream into a treatment chamber containing a liquid medium comprising a hydrogen sulfide or mercaptan scavenger or a blend comprising (i) an absorbent and (ii) a glycol ether and/or C.sub.6-C.sub.18 alcohol, wherein the glycol ether and/or alcohol enhances the solubility of the contaminant in the absorbent.
Carbon dioxide absorbent comprising triamine
The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide absorbent comprising a triamine, a diamine and a dialkylene glycol dialkyl ether or trialkylene glycol dialkyl ether. The carbon dioxide absorbent according to the present invention can improve the carbon dioxide absorption capacity, absorption rate, and regeneration performance thereof simultaneously by using the triamine as a main absorbent, the diamine as a rate enhancer, the dialkylene glycol dialkyl ether or trialkylene glycol dialkyl ether as a fine disproportionation agent and a regeneration promoter.
COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR GAS DEHYDRATION
The present invention relates to a dehydration composition and method of use thereof for drying gas streams, in particular natural gas streams, wherein the dehydration composition comprises (i) a glycol, (ii) a borate compound, (iii) an alkali metal carboxylate, and (iv) an additional glycol different than (i), and/or (v) an additional additive selected from an alkanolamine, a phosphate acid or salt compound, a sweetening agent, a low temperature viscosity improver, a corrosion inhibitor, an antifoaming agent, or mixtures thereof.
