The solvents may include an aqueous mixture of 2-amino-2-methylproponol, 2-piperazine-1-ethylamine, diethylenetriamine, 2-methylamino-2-methyl-1-propanol, and potassium carbonate or potassium carbonate buffer salt. The solvent may also contain less than about 75% by weight of dissolving medium (i.e., water) and may have a single liquid phase. The solvents and methods have favourable regeneration energies, chemical stability, vapour pressure, total heat consumption, net cyclic capacity, and reaction kinetics.
Post-combustion carbon dioxide capture and compression
A method is provided in which a carbon dioxide containing flue gas is provided by combusting a carbonaceous fuel in a high pressure steam generating unit using combustion air, and in which the carbon dioxide in the flue gas is at least partially captured and compressed in a carbon dioxide capture and compression unit having a carbon dioxide scrubber operated with an absorbing liquid which is regenerated using low pressure steam. The combustion air used in the high pressure steam generating unit is at least partially heated using sensible heat of the flue gas and/or the steam used for regenerating the absorption liquid of the carbon dioxide scrubber is at least partially generated using sensible heat of the flue gas. A corresponding system is also described herein.
Energy efficient process for separating hydrogen sulfide from gaseous mixtures using a hybrid solvent mixture
Disclosed is a process for regenerating a hybrid solvent used to remove contaminants from a fluid stream and to provide an improved yield of purified fluid. Said process comprises a purification unit (12) and at least one regeneration unit (40) wherein make-up water (72) is added to the regenerated lean hybrid solvent (55) prior to reuse in the first purification unit and no water is recycled into the regeneration unit.
AQUEOUS CO2 ABSORBENT COMPRISING 2-AMINO-2-METHYL-1-PROPANOL AND 3-AMINOPROPANOL OR 2-AMINO-2-METHYL-1-PROPANOL AND 4-AMINOBUTANOL
An aqueous CO2 absorbent comprising a combination of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) and 3-aminopropanol (AP), or AMP and 4-aminobutanol (AB), is described. A method for capturing CO2 from a CO2 containing gas using the mentioned absorbent, and the use of a combination of AMP and AP, or a combination of AMP and AB are also described.
AQUEOUS LIQUID SORBENT
An aqueous liquid sorbent suitable for use in separating a target gas from a mixture of gases in a rotating packed bed gas capture system, comprising a first amine compound, a second amine compound and water, wherein the sorbent comprises at least 16 wt % of the first amine compound and at least 51 wt % of total amine compounds, the first amine compound has a reaction rate with the target gas that is greater than the reaction rate of the second amine with the target gas, and the second amine compound has a solubility in water that is greater than the solubility of the first amine compound in water.
COMPOSITE HYDROGELS FOR ADSORPTION OF ORGANIC ACID ANIONS & METAL IONS FROM LEAN MDEA
Various hydrogels are described which are useful for the regeneration of methyldiethanolamine which is used to scrub H.sub.2S/CO.sub.2. Methods of regenerating methyldiethanolamine using such hydrogels are also described.
Solvent composition for CO.SUB.2 .capture and a process mediated thereof
The present invention relates to a biocompatible task specific hybrid solvent (TSHS) composition that synergistically increases the carbon capture efficiency and utilizes less energy for CO.sub.2 desorption over the existing solutions. Further, the process of synthesizing such composition is discussed in this disclosure. Also, the present disclosure provides a process that involves a task specific hybrid solvent (TSHS) composition for selective capturing CO.sub.2 from any gaseous stream.
Process and system for pretreating gaseous effluent for post-combustion CO2 capture
The present invention concerns the field of capturing the CO.sub.2 from a gaseous effluent. The incoming gaseous effluent is burned with a fuel, so as to obtain a hot gaseous effluent rich in acidic compounds, and the hot gaseous effluent rich in acidic compounds is cooled to give a cold effluent rich in acidic compounds, which is subsequently used in the step of contacting with an absorbent solution rich in acidic compounds.
Multiplex inertial filter, collector and separator
Methods and systems are provided for a multiplexed phase separating inertial filter that is composed of helical through holes generating centrifugal separating forces. In one example, the inertial filter may be a planar porous material with an array of helical channels, each helical channel of the array of helical channels extending from a top surface of the porous material to a bottom surface of the porous material.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS OF CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM FLUE GASES
A system and a process for capturing Carbon Dioxide (CO.sub.2) from flue gases are disclosed. The process comprises feeding a flue gas comprising CO.sub.2 to at least one Rotary Packed Bed (RPB) absorber rotating circularly. A solvent may be provided through an inner radius of the RPB absorber. The solvent may move towards an outer radius of the RPB absorber. The solvent may react with the flue gas in a counter-current flow. The process further includes passing the flue gas through at least one of a water wash and an acid wash to remove traces of the solvent present in the flue gas. Finally, the solvent reacted with the CO.sub.2 may be thermally regenerated for re-utilizing the solvent back in the process.
