The method establishes multiple budget categories to which the financial transactions may be assigned and represents, on a graphical user interface, the financial transactions as cards that are draggable by the user in a desired direction. The method represents, on the graphical user interface, the budget categories as virtual pouches and enables the user to drag the cards into the virtual pouches to assign the associated financial transactions to the associated budget categories. In certain embodiments, the virtual pouches include primary pouches including a first primary pouch configured to receive cards documenting fixed recurring expenses, and a second primary pouch configured to receive cards documenting variable non-recurring expenses. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed herein.

The example method also includes initiating a user check-in interaction, where the user check-in interaction comprises providing an evaluation of the user progress made with respect to the pathway.
