A resin includes a functionalized aminopolymer having amine sites for capturing carbon dioxide molecules, where each aminopolymer molecule has at least one functional group amenable to crosslinking, a porogen, and a crosslinking initiator. A product includes an aminopolymer material formed into a self-supporting structure, the aminopolymer material including crosslinked aminopolymers having amine sites for the capture of carbon dioxide molecules.
Systems and methods for generating water from air
A water generation system for generating liquid water from a process gas containing water vapor is disclosed. In various embodiments, the water generation systems comprise a solar thermal unit, a condenser and a controller configured to operate the water generation system between a loading operational mode and a release operational mode for the production of liquid water. A method of generating water from a process gas is disclosed herein. In various embodiments, the method comprises flowing a process gas into a solar thermal unit, transitioning from the loading operational mode to a release operational mode; flowing a regeneration fluid into the solar thermal unit and the condenser during the release operational mode; and, condensing water vapor from the regeneration fluid to produce liquid water.
AIR DEHUMIDIFIER
The AHU includes an air dehumidifying (AD) flow path, an air regeneration (AR) flow path, a first desiccant wheel and a second desiccant wheel each in the AD flow path and the AR flow path, a first cooler heat exchanger in the AD flow path, a second cooler in the AD flow path, and a heater disposed in the AR flow path. An HVACR system includes the AHU and a chiller configured to supply chiller liquid to the first cooler heat exchanger and the second cooler heat exchanger in the AHU. A method of conditioning air in an HVACR system includes directing air through the air dehumidifying (AD) flow path and directing air through an air regeneration (AR) flow path to regenerate the desiccant in a first desiccant wheel and the desiccant in a second desiccant wheel.
Carbon capture system
A carbon capture system includes two carbon capture plates. A first carbon capture plate collects carbon dioxide from a flow of ambient air. A second carbon capture plate releases carbon dioxide upon application of heat from a heat exchanger. The heat is exhaust heat from a data center. The first carbon capture plate and the second carbon capture plate are rotatable between the capture and release positions. The carbon capture system uses the waste heat from a data center to collect and store atmospheric carbon dioxide, thereby reducing the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Cyclical Co2 Capture With Integrated Heat Pump
Systems and methods are provided for performing CO.sub.2 sorption and desorption using a sorbent structure with an integrated heat pump. The integrated heat pump can allow at least a portion of the heat generated during sorption to be recovered by forming steam from water. The steam raised during the sorption process can then be compressed and optionally heated to raise the temperature of the steam. The compressed and optionally heated steam can then be used as at least a portion of the steam for desorption of CO.sub.2 in the same sorbent bed or a different sorbent bed. By recovering the heat of sorption to raise steam, substantial energy savings can be achieved relative to a conventional process.
Utilization of nitrogen oxides from ambient air
Utilization of nitrogen oxides contained in the ambient air including a system and a method with which the nitrogen oxides can be utilized for the production of liquid or solid chemicals.
Atmospheric water harvester with climate-adjustable adsorbant properties
Provided herein are atmospheric water harvesting systems that are tailored with an optimal adsorption threshold, based on energy cost and water availability considerations. The systems include a plurality of adsorbent modules, each containing metal organic frameworks of various adsorption thresholds. Such a design enables real time adjustment to achieve optimal harvesting conditions in changing atmospheric conditions, whether for daily or seasonal humidity variations.
Method and system for controlling an on-vehicle evaporative emission system
A vehicle system having an internal combustion engine and evaporative emission system including a canister is described, wherein canister includes a chamber having a flexible Metal Organic Framework (MOF) material disposed therein. A controllable device is coupled to the flexible MOF material, and a controller is operatively connected to the controllable device and the purge valve. The controller includes an instruction set that is executable to activate the controllable device and control the purge valve to an open state in response to a command to purge the canister, determine an activation parameter for the controllable device, determine a purge flow, integrate the purge flow to determine a total purge mass, and deactivate the controllable device when the total purge mass is greater than a threshold.
System and Method for Integrated Carbon Dioxide Gas Separation from Combustion Gases
An integrated fuel combustion system with gas separation (adsorptive, absorptive, membrane or other suitable gas separation) separates a portion of carbon dioxide from a combustion gas mixture and provides for recycle of separated carbon dioxide to the intake of a fuel combustor for combustion. A process for carbon dioxide separation and recycle includes: admitting combustion gas to a gas separation system; sorbing a portion of carbon dioxide; recovering a flue gas stream depleted in carbon dioxide for release or use; desorbing the carbon dioxide from the gas separation system; admitting an oxidant stream into the gas separation system and forming a mixed oxidant stream; and recycling a portion of the mixed oxidant stream to an inlet of the fuel combustor.
