INTERMITTENT-BUBBLING EQUIPMENT

The present invention provides intermittent-bubbling equipment used while being immersed in a liquid. The intermittent-bubbling equipment includes a tubular casing vertically disposed; and a plurality of partition walls disposed substantially parallel to an axial direction in the casing, and configured to define a gas introducing chamber, a gas inducing chamber, and a gas discharging chamber. The gas introducing chamber and the gas inducing chamber communicate with each other at a top of the casing, and the gas inducing chamber and the gas discharging chamber communicate with each other at a bottom of the casing. An upper side of the gas introducing chamber and an upper side of the gas inducing chamber are closed by a lid plate, and a lower side of the gas inducing chamber and a lower side of the gas discharging chamber are closed by a bottom plate. A cross-sectional area of the gag introducing chamber may be greater than a cross-sectional area of the gas discharging chamber. An upper edge of a connecting hole between the gas inducing chamber and the gas discharging chamber may be substantially horizontal. A bottom plate that closes the gas inducing chamber and a bottom plate that closes the gas discharging chamber may be formed by a single flat member.

A bubble generating device includes a vibration plate, a first cylindrical body, a spring portion, a second cylindrical body, and a piezoelectric element. The vibration plate includes openings, a first surface in contact with a liquid in a liquid tank, and a second surface in contact with a gas. The first cylindrical body has a first end portion supporting the vibration plate. The spring portion has a plate shape and supports a second portion of the first cylindrical body. The second cylindrical body has an end portion supporting the spring portion at a position outward of a position at which the first cylindrical body is supported. The piezoelectric element causes the spring portion to vibrate and is inward of a portion of a surface of the spring portion supported by the second cylindrical body.

A dispersion for use with an effluent treatment system, and methods of making and using such a dispersion, whereby the dispersion includes a polymer substantially uniformly dispersed within an aqueous solvent. The dispersion can be generated by (i) combining a gas with the polymer and the aqueous solvent, whereby the gas may be effective to disperse the polymer within the aqueous solvent and provide a gas-polymer-aqueous solvent mixture; and (ii) flowing the gas-polymer-aqueous solvent mixture through a mixing chamber comprising static mixing elements disposed therein, whereby the static mixing elements may be effective to further disperse the polymer within the aqueous solvent.

Aquarium system having improved flow controller and methods of use

A flow control arrangement for use with a pump in an aquarium includes a main body having an inlet flow conduit and an outlet flow conduit. The main body has a cylindrical wall having first and second opposite open ends and defining an open interior; and a through hole extending through the wall to the open interior. A flow control dial closes the first open end; and an aeration flow dial closes the second open end and is rotatably adjustable relative to the main body. The aeration flow dial has a tubular aeration wall extending into the open interior. The aeration wall has an aperture, wherein the aeration flow dial can be rotatably adjustable to control axial alignment of the aperture with the through hole in the wall of the main body to selectively adjust a size of a resulting orifice from the open interior of the main body to outside of the main body.
