The chimney tray (3) of the invention is characterized by a screen (9) which extends around the chimney body (6-1) of a first chimney (5-1), with the lower annular edge (14) of the screen (9) below the upper edge (13) of the chimney body (6-1) of the first chimney (5-1) and the upper annular edge (11) of the screen (9) above the lower outer edge (12) of the cover unit (8-1) of the first chimney (5-1) or adjoining the lower outer edge (12) of the cover unit (8-1) of the first chimney (5-1).
Apparatus and Method for Aerating Wastewater
An aeration apparatus including a tank defining a cavity to receive a liquid, at least one aerator positioned within the tank, and a plenum connected to a bottom surface of the tank and in fluid communication with the at least one aerator, in which an air flow is directed from the plenum into the at least one aerator to deliver air to the liquid in the tank to oxidize the fluid.
METHODS FOR PRODUCING HIGH-CONCENTRATION OF DISSOLVED OZONE IN LIQUID MEDIA
Disclosed are methods for continuous production of ozone strong water, the methods comprising the steps of injecting an acidification agent into a pressurized feed water to maintain a pH value of the pressurized feed water below 7, diffusing a two-phase mixture of O.sub.2-O.sub.3 gas) and recirculated water into a body of acidic pressurized water to dissolve ozone into the acidic pressurized water. The disclosed methods include simultaneously maintaining a start-up mode in an upper portion of the dissolution column that favors high efficiency of ozone mass transfer into the acidic pressurized water and a steady state mode in a lower portion of the dissolution column that favors a high concentration of dissolved ozone in the acidic pressurized water coexistent in the body of the acidic pressurized water, wherein an ozone concentration gradient is formed along a height of the body of the acidic pressurized water.
SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING HIGH-CONCENTRATION OF DISSOLVED OZONE IN LIQUID MEDIA
Disclosed are systems for continuous production of ozone strong water, the systems comprising an injection device that injects an acidification agent into a pressurized feed liquid, a diffuser device that injects ozone into a body of the acidic pressurized feed water, and injection nozzles each controlled by a valve that adjust a flow rate of the ozone strong water discharged from a dissolution column to match a flow rate of the acidic pressurized feed water fed to the dissolution column, thereby maintaining a start-up mode in an upper portion of the dissolution column that favors a high efficiency of ozone mass transfer and a steady-state mode in a lower portion of the dissolution column that favors a high dissolved ozone concentration coexistent in the body of the acidic pressurized liquid, wherein a concentration gradient of dissolved ozone is formed along a height of the body of the acidic pressurized liquid.
CLIP FOR SUPPORTING VESSEL INTERNALS, ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
An assembly for supporting a member in a vessel comprises a clip comprising an arm with a first end attached to a panel and a second end opposed to the panel. The panel is secured in the vessel. The assembly also comprises a plate slidably disposed between the second end of the arm and the panel. The subject matter also pertains to the clip itself and the method of use.
COUNTERCURRENT CONTACTING DEVICES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
The contacting device for countercurrent contacting of fluid streams and having a first pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades and a second pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades. The deflector blades in each one of the grids are interleaved with the deflector blades in the paired intersecting grid and may have uncut side portions that join them together along a transverse strip where the deflector blades cross each other and cut side portions that extend from the uncut side portions to the ends of the deflector blades. At least some of the deflector blades have directional tabs and associated openings to allow portions of the fluid streams to pass through the deflector blades to facilitate mixing of the fluid streams.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT DEVICE AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT METHOD
A wastewater treatment device has: an ozone generator which supplies ozone; a mixer which mixes ozone supplied from the ozone generator with wastewater and supplies ozone mixed wastewater; an ozone oxidation unit which progresses ozone oxidation in the ozone mixed wastewater while passing the ozone mixed wastewater therethrough and discharges wastewater in which the ozone has been consumed; a biological treatment unit which performs biological treatment on the wastewater discharged from the ozone oxidation unit using microorganisms; and an adjusting device which adjusts the amount of ozone to be mixed with the wastewater by the mixer so that ozone in an amount that inhibits the microorganisms of the biological treatment unit does not remain in the wastewater discharged from the ozone oxidation unit.
Compact distributor tray for offshore gas/liquid contact columns
The invention is a distributor tray for at least one a gas/liquid heat and a material exchange column comprising passages for passing gas through the tray. The tray has an upper plate (P1) and a lower plate (P2) with each plate having at least two distinct liquid passages. The openings (10 and 11) of the upper plate (P1) are positioned at distinct elevations with at least one of the liquid passages (10) of upper plate (P1) having a lower elevation communicating with one of the liquid passages of the lower plate through a supply line (9). The invention also relates to a gas/liquid heat and/or material exchange column equipped with a distributor tray (2) in accordance with the invention and to a floating barge having a column and to the use of the column.
