APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR WATER TREATMENT

The invention provides an injector device for a water treatment apparatus, and a method of use. The injector device comprises a first coupling for fluid connection to a source of liquid to be treated; and a second coupling for fluid connection to at least one liquid treatment vessel arranged to expose liquid in the vessel to ultraviolet radiation in an advanced oxidation process reaction. The device comprises at least one injection port for injecting at least one gas into a liquid flowing through the injector device. The injector device is at least partially formed from a material that is transmissive to ultraviolet radiation. In another aspect, a water treatment apparatus defines a plurality of parallel flow streams between the inlet of the apparatus and the at least one liquid treatment vessel. The injector device comprises an injection port for each of the plurality of parallel flow streams.

An exhaust gas recirculation system for an engine includes a conduit, and a mixer. The conduit is configured to direct to direct exhaust gas away from an exhaust manifold. The mixer is configured to direct exhaust gas from the conduit, into an engine air intake system. The mixer is arranged with an exhaust gas mixing volute chamber having a plurality of mixing vanes configured to direct the exhaust gas into a central intake airflow upstream of an intake manifold.

Internal swirler tube for exhaust catalyst

An exhaust system assembly including a catalyst housing, a catalyst core, and a swirler tube positioned inside the catalyst housing. The swirler tube has a plurality of openings that permit radial exhaust flow into an inner volume of the swirler tube from the catalyst housing. One end of the swirler tube has blades that extend inward and include oblique surfaces arranged at oblique angles relative to a centerline axis of the swirler tube. These blades induce a vortex in the exhaust gases exiting the first swirler tube end. The swirler tube is arranged inside the catalyst housing such that a sequential flow path is created where the exhaust gases flowing through the catalyst housing must first pass through the openings in the swirler tube and then by the blades at the first swirler tube end.

Mixer for use in a vehicle exhaust system

A mixer for a vehicle exhaust system includes a mixer body defining a mixer central axis and having an inlet configured to receive engine exhaust gas and an outlet. The mixer further includes an upstream baffle positioned within the mixer body and a downstream baffle positioned within the mixer body to be spaced from the upstream baffle in a direction along the mixer central axis. A doser defines a doser axis and is positioned to spray a reducing agent into an area between the upstream baffle and the downstream baffle such that a mixture of reducing agent and exhaust gas exits the outlet. The mixture moves through a rotational flow path that is at least 360 degrees before exiting the outlet.

The mixing channel (4) includes: wide channel sections (16) and narrow channel sections (18) along the main direction (10). The mixing channel (4) has an elongated cross section seen in a direction perpendicular to the main direction (10). At least a first delimiting surface (22) of the mixing channel (4) is provided with protrusions (20) extending at least partially along the first delimiting surface (22) in a direction across the mixing channel (4) and protruding towards a second delimiting surface (24) of the mixing channel (4) to form the narrow channel sections (18). A turbulent flow of beverage is created by the narrow and wide channel sections. Further a carbonator for producing carbonated beverage, an appliance having a carbonator, and a method of producing a carbonated beverage are provided.

To provides intensive mixing of the injected fluid with the exhaust gas flow a perforation (29) of the first separating wall (25) is configured so that exhaust gas largely flows eccentrically through the first separating wall (25) with respect to a longitudinal center axis (23) of the channel and a perforation (31) of the second separating wall (26) is configured so that exhaust gas largely flows concentrically through the second separating wall (26) with respect to the longitudinal center axis (23).

An injector mounted to the exterior of the exhaust pipe, the injector with a tip disposed within the exhaust pipe at the bend, for injecting liquid reductant into the exhaust pipe. A shield member mounted in the exhaust pipe, the shield member comprising a generally tubular or frustoconical structure having a proximal and a distal end, the proximal end being disposed such that the injection tip is inside the shield member, the distal end being disposed towards a centerline of the exhaust pipe. A vane mounted in relation to the shield member, the vane being arranged to direct a proportion of exhaust flow from upstream of the bend in a substantially arcuate path into the proximal end of the shield member.

A fluid mixing apparatus includes mixing conduits that extend through a fluid plenum. The fluid plenum, which surrounds a first wall defining a main passage fluidly coupled to a low-pressure fluid source, is surrounded itself by a second wall defining a high-pressure plenum fluidly coupled to a high-pressure fluid source. An insulated tube disposed at the inlet of the first wall delivers a third fluid. The mixing conduits fluidly couple the high-pressure plenum to the main passage, where the high-pressure fluid is mixed with low-pressure fluid and the third fluid. Optionally, the fluid plenum may house a fourth fluid that is injected through injection holes in the mixing conduits. The fluid mixing apparatus may be used to mix one or more fuels with high- and low-pressure air in a gas turbine combustor. Alternately, the fluid mixing apparatus may mix a fluid with high- and low-pressure water streams.
