Mist Generating Apparatus for Use in a Vehicle
The invention provides an apparatus for generating mist, comprising: a container adapted to accommodate a liquid, the container comprising an inlet for receiving an incoming fluid stream into the container, and an outlet via which an outgoing fluid stream exits the container; at least one agitating means arranged in the container for agitating the accommodated liquid to generate droplets of the liquid; wherein the agitating means is arranged to be driven by the incoming fluid stream, such that the generated liquid droplets are caused by the incoming fluid stream to form the outgoing fluid stream, and subsequently, exit the container. The invention also provides a system for generating mist, comprising: a plurality of the above described apparatuses, comprising at least a first apparatus having a first inlet and a first outlet, and a second apparatus having a second inlet and a second outlet; wherein the first outlet is adapted to be connected with the second inlet to thereby allow fluid communication between the first apparatus and the second apparatus.
Dissolver tube having mesh screen, and method for producing mesh screen
There is provided a dissolver tube to generate a pressure change to a fluid to change a physical property of the fluid, the tube comprising: a hollow tubular outer body; an inlet cap coupled to the body at an inlet thereof; an outlet cap coupled to the body at an outlet thereof; and a plurality of mesh screens arranged between the inlet cap and outlet cap, wherein each mesh screen has a plurality of micro-holes formed therethrough, each micro-hole having a Venturi structure, thereby to momentarily continuously contract, relax, and shear the fluid passing through the tube.
Method for foaming adhesive and related system
The present invention relates to methods and systems for producing a foamed adhesive. A method for foaming an adhesive includes feeding an adhesive from a supply storage tank to a pump, conveying the adhesive outputted by the pump through an adhesive flow meter, injecting an air into the adhesive once the adhesive travels through the adhesive flow meter, feeding a mixture of the adhesive and air to a static mixer, mixing the mixture homogeneously with the static mixer such that the adhesive is foamed, and transporting the foamed adhesive to a product storage tank.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SOLVENT MIXING IN A CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEM
A solvent mixing system includes a mixing tee, a centrifugal mixing path, and a low frequency blending mixer. The mixing tee has at least two solvent input ports and a solvent output port in fluid communication with one another. The centrifugal mixing path has a mixing path inlet in fluid communication with the solvent output port of the mixing tee. The centrifugal mixing path includes at least one coiled segment between the mixing path inlet and a mixing path outlet. The low frequency blending mixer is in fluid communication with the outlet of the centrifugal mixing path.
Apparatus and method of increasing the mass transfer of a treatment substance into a liquid
An apparatus and method for increasing the mass transfer of a treatment substance into a liquid flowing in a pipe in a full pipe flow regime has a diversion conduit which receives a portion of the liquid. The portion of the liquid is mixed with a treatment substance and then reintroduced into the pipe at a downstream location through an injection structure. Between the diversion conduit, on the upstream side, and the injection structure, on the downstream side, there are a plurality of flow vanes disposed circumferentially about a cylindrical inner wall of the pipe, where each flow vane extends radially inward toward a central axis of the pipe, extending into the main stream flow of the liquid. Another embodiment of the invention has a flow grid located downstream of the injection structure.
Portable unit for treating potable water in municipal and similar water distribution systems
A portable unit for treating potable water in municipal and similar water lines to reduce and remove undesirable disinfectant byproducts such as trihalomethanes. The unit has a housing with water and air inlet and outlet arrangements. The water inlet arraignment is connectable to the municipal water line to deliver water into the housing where it is sprayed substantially horizontally into the housing along a duct through a splash screen and up against a splash plate. The splash plate redirects the water spray laterally outwardly, rearwardly, and downwardly onto an inclined ramp that guides the water downwardly into the lower part of the housing where it is collected or held until it is pumped back into the municipal water line. In operation, the THM treatment unit is self regulating based on fluctuating downstream water demand and beneficially operates in at least two modes automatically to meet the demand and safety considerations.
