Mixtures and compositions comprising Paenibacillus strains or metabolites thereof and other biopesticides
The present invention relates to novel mixtures comprising, as active components, at least one isolated bacterial strain, which is a member of the genus Paenibacillus, or a cell-free extract thereof or at least one metabolite thereof, and at least one other biopesticide. The present invention also relates to compositions comprising at least one of such bacterial strains, whole culture broth or a cell-free extract or a fraction thereof or at least one metabolite thereof, and at least one other biopesticide. The present invention also relates to a method of controlling or suppressing plant pathogens or preventing plant pathogen infections by applying such composition. The present invention also relates to mixtures of fusaricidins which are pesticidal metabolites produced by the abovementioned strains, and other biopesticides.

Microbial consortia
Disclosed herein are microbial consortia and compositions including microbes for use in agricultural or biodegradation applications. In some embodiments, soil, plants, and/or plant parts (such as seeds, seedlings, shoots, roots, leaves, fruit, stems, or branches) are contacted with a disclosed microbial consortia or composition including microbes. The microbial consortia or microbe-containing compositions may be applied to soil, plant, and/or plant parts alone or in combination with additional components (such as chitin, chitosan, glucosamine, amino acids, and/or liquid fertilizer). In additional embodiments, the disclosed microbial consortia or compositions including microbes are used in methods of degrading biological materials, such as chitin-containing biological materials.

Bacterial Strain having Anti-Fungal Properties and Uses Thereof
Described herein is the evaluation of the antifungal properties of bacterial strain KGS-3 against Fusarium Head Blight (FHB)) white mold, blackleg and a number of potato fungal diseases and the plant growth effect attained. KGS-3 is a novel strain of Paenibacillus polymyxa that can suppress bacterial and fungal plant diseases. KGS-3 is predicted to produce antifungal metabolites polymyxin, fusaricidin, and paenilarvin and has been demonstrated to produce cylindrol B. KGS-3 is a plant growth promoting bacteria demonstrated to increase protein content of plants and/or plant products.

PHI-4 polypeptides and methods for their use
Compositions and methods for controlling pests are provided. The methods involve transforming organisms with a nucleic acid sequence encoding an insecticidal protein. In particular, the nucleic acid sequences are useful for preparing plants and microorganisms that possess insecticidal activity. Thus, transformed bacteria, plants, plant cells, plant tissues and seeds are provided. Compositions are insecticidal nucleic acids and proteins of bacterial species. The sequences find use in the construction of expression vectors for subsequent transformation into organisms of interest, as probes for the isolation of other homologous (or partially homologous) genes. The insecticidal proteins find use in controlling, inhibiting growth or killing lepidopteran, coleopteran, dipteran, fungal, hemipteran, and nematode pest populations and for producing compositions with insecticidal activity.
