Problem: A mixing device is provided which can solve problems resulting from friction between a vessel and a stirrer, which can generate a circulatory flow even below the stirrer, and which allows a desired number of stirrers to be arranged at desired positions. A discharge device provided with the mixing device, and a discharge method are also provided. Solution: The mixing device includes a stirrer incorporating a magnet, a stirrer holding mechanism that specifies a position of the stirrer by exerting a magnetic force on the stirrer from the lateral side, and a rotation mechanism that rotates the stirrer holding mechanism, wherein the rotation mechanism rotates the stirrer holding mechanism, thereby rotating the stirrer. The discharge device includes the mixing device, and the discharge method is carried out using the discharge device.

FIREFIGHTING POLYMER GEL PREPARATION ONBOARD AIRCRAFT

A tank on a firefighting aircraft initially is loaded with water. A polymer gel emulsion vessel is provided on the aircraft, but is not activated and mixed with tank water until such polymer gel preparation is initiated by an operator. When initiated, a pump pulls water from the tank and doses it with gel emulsion. Double elbows and/or the pump impeller fully activates the polymer gel. The activated polymer gel is mixed within the tank by one of a variety of systems including mixing paddles or sparging with gas. In one embodiment, a hollow tower of telescoping form has a float to keep an upper end near a surface in the tank and a sparging gas entry is a controlled distance below the surface, such that gas of limited pressure, such as from a ram air inlet can sparge and mix the water and activated polymer gel emulsion effectively.

A device produces a composite active material powder by coating active material or composite particle surfaces, which are obtained by coating the active material particle surfaces with an oxide-based solid electrolyte, with a sulfide-based solid electrolyte. The device includes: a storage body having a cylindrical inner wall surface, and a rotating body disposed in an internal space surrounded by the storage body inner wall surface, having a rotating shaft aligned with the internal space central axis, and which includes blades. Each blade end part has such a tapered section on a front side in the rotating body rotation/movement direction, that a thickness of the blade gradually tapers toward a blade end side, and each blade end part has such a curved end surface on a back side in the rotating body rotation/movement direction, that the curved end surface faces the storage body inner wall surface and is generally parallel thereto.

Lump conditioner for a mixer

A mixer having i) a vessel defining a mixing chamber surrounded by boundary walls for receiving a mixture containing lumps therein, ii) a plurality of mixing blades, and iii) a driving mechanism supporting the mixing blades in the mixing chamber for mixing motion relative to the vessel so as to mix the mixture within the mixing chamber of the vessel, further includes at least one lump conditioning blade. The lump conditioning blade is supported by the driving mechanism such that the lump conditioning blade is movable in a working direction along a respective one of the boundary walls with a working edge of the blade being maintained at a prescribed space from the boundary wall which is effective to reduce a lump size of the lumps in the mixture as the mixture passes between the working edge of the lump conditioning blade and the boundary wall.
