Methods for fluid mixing systems with laterally displaced flexible drive lines
A method for mixing a biological suspension includes disposing a biological suspension within a compartment of a container, the biological suspension comprising cells or microorganisms suspended within a nutrient growth medium; and rotating a first drive line and laterally spaced apart second drive line within the compartment of the container so as to cause the drive lines to twist into a helical configuration and mix the biological suspension.

The recess comprises at least one partial region implemented in a contiguous fashion if viewed in parallel to a rotational axis of the stirring blade carrier.
STIRRER SYSTEM
The present invention concerns a stirrer system for animal cell culture consisting of a combination of at least one radially-conveying stirrer element and at least one axially-conveying stirrer element, wherein at least three stirrer elements must be present and the uppermost stirrer element is an axially-conveying stirrer element. The stirrer elements are arranged at a certain distance above one another on a stirrer shaft. A particular embodiment is a multiple stirrer system consisting of two disk stirrers as radially-conveying stirrer elements and an inclined-blade stirrer as an axially-conveying stirrer element wherein the inclined-blade stirrer is arranged above the disk stirrer on the stirrer shaft. The stirrer system according to the invention achieves among others a gentler and better intermixing in the culture of shear-sensitive mammalian cells in cell cultures.
Continuous reaction apparatus and apparatus for producing a toner
Provided is a continuous reaction apparatus which can precisely control the path of flow of the liquid reaction mixture in the reaction vessel. Further, provided is a continuous reaction apparatus which can efficiently mix the liquid reaction mixture in the reaction vessel. The continuous reaction apparatus comprises a plurality of mixing vessel units and a plurality of partition units. These units are connected in the state of being alternately stacked on one another. Each mixing vessel unit has an agitating blade disposed in the inner space thereof. The relationship between the inner diameter D1 of the mixing vessel unit, the height H of the mixing vessel unit, and the outer diameter d1 of the agitating blade satisfies the formula (1): 10(D1/H)1.5, and the formula (2): 0.99(d1/D1)0.7. The agitating blade is a circular disc-type agitating blade.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING RAPID STIRRER, AND RAPID STIRRER
In a rapid stirrer that stirs sludge and a flocculant in a tank with a stirring blade, the rotation speed of the stirring blade is increased at a set rate with an increase in the amount of charged sludge, the rotation speed of the stirring blade is reduced at the set rate with a decrease in the amount of charged sludge, and flocculated flocs having a fixed floc diameter are stably generated even when operating conditions change so as to fluctuate the amount of charged sludge.
