More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a mixing device that may be used to make medications and specialized pharmaceuticals for administration via intrathecal infusion therapy, or the like. A mixing device may comprise an upper chamber, a lower chamber having four compartments for accepting an amount of medication, wherein the upper chamber and the lower chamber may be coupled and may be used to mix and make medication accessible via a Luer Lock adapter, termination, or the like, wherein the device is in compliance with USP 797 standards.

ASYMMETRIC BLENDER CUP AND MOTOR BASE SIPPING MECHANISM

Provided is a blending system comprising a cup and a motor base. The motor base may include a sipping mechanism and a plug that operatively opens and closes access to the sipping mechanism. In a closed position, the plug may seal the sipping pathway at or near the internal wall and at or near the external wall. In an open position, the plug may insert into a plug receptacle adjacent the sipping pathway. The plug receptacle and sipping pathway may be sealed from contents of the cup in a closed position. The electrical components of the motor base, such as one or more of the motor, battery, drive shaft, and blade assembly, may be offset from a central axis of the motor base to accommodate the sipping mechanism. The blending system may be portable.

A portable, self-contained beverage apparatus includes a container assembly having a known storage capacity for storing a consumable liquid, and a dispensing assembly disposed within the container assembly that dispenses variable, non-zero quantities of additives into the consumable liquid. The dispensing assembly includes multiple apertures structured and arranged to retain vessels containing the additives to be dispensed into the consumable liquid. The beverage apparatus also includes a level sensor disposed within the container assembly that determines a consumable liquid level of the consumable liquid stored in the container assembly. In certain embodiments, one or more positive displacement pumping mechanisms are configured to pump additive liquid from additive containers into a beverage chamber.

The rotor sensor is able to monitor the magnetic fields emitted by the motor rotor and that pass through the plate. The control circuit receives signals from the rotor sensor representative of the rotational orientation of the rotor and is further able to monitor the actuation of the trigger. Based on the rotor orientation signals and the actuation of the trigger, the control circuit generates signals that result in the selective generation of power signals to the motor rotor.

The mixing apparatus further has at least one mixing member located within the interior space that is configured and located so that the contents is forced against the at least one mixing member when the collapsible portion is gripped and repositioned by a user.

NANO SEEDING TOOLS TO GENERATE NANOMETER SIZE CRYSTALLIZATION SEEDS

A kit and a method for using the kit to generate nanoseeds from protein nanocrystals and aggregates is disclosed. The method comprises mixing a plurality of beads with a protein nanocrystal or aggregate, and agitating the mixture to generate the nanoseeds. Nanoseeds made by disclosed embodiments may be of a high quality, as evaluated by TEM, and can be used to produce high quality protein crystals. Additionally, spectroscopic techniques, such as UV fluorescence and/or brightfield microscopy can be used to identify aggregates suitable to produce nanoseeds.

PORTABLE CARBONATING DISPENSERS

A portable carbonating dispenser utilizes an onboard supply of carbonation gas and a carbonation control module for permitting a user to carbonate base liquid stored in an onboard base liquid container. The carbonation control module may include a user actuated button for selectively activating the carbonation. The base liquid container may include an extended portion for increasing the exposure of base liquid to carbonation gas. A vertical viewing window enables a user to view carbonation and the level of base liquid in the container. An isolation component may be useful to isolate an additive cartridge from carbonation pressure during carbonation in applications where the dispenser utilizes additive cartridges. Safety venting and locking features may be provided on the mode selector to prevent a user from accidentally pressurizing the cartridge space. A refill station may be provided to refill the portable carbonating dispenser.
