Secure portable, on-demand, microfluidic mixing and dispensing device
A dispensing device, comprising a plurality of microfluidic pumps, microfluidic valves, and a microfluidic mixer chip, for receiving and mixing microfluidic amounts of a plurality of fluids having differing viscosities, is disclosed. The device includes a plurality of pathways for moving fluids from associated reservoirs to the microfluidic mixer chip. A mix controller controls the microfluidic pumps and valves so that the fluids, having different viscosities, can be accurately mixed at specified microfluidic amounts or volumes according to a specified microfluidic recipe, and the microfluidic mixture dispensed from the device. The device can be in communication with a software application implemented on a mobile compute device, such as a smartphone, and receive instructions for implementing the specified microfluidic recipe from the software application such that the operation of device components is at the direction of the software application executed on the mobile compute device.
PERSONAL FORMULATION DEVICE
A personal formulation device for mixing and dispensing customized formulations from ingredient reservoirs carried by the device. The device may include a plurality of miniaturized progressive pumps with a flexible coupling between the motor and the pump. The coupling may include a spring (40). The device may include a spacer sleeve (62) having an internal diameter tapered to closely follow the motion envelope of the spring (40). Each pump may include a retainer (60) that is threaded into the interior of the pump body (52) to retain the spacer sleeve (62) and the drive end (120) of the rotor (34). Each pump may include a stator with an integrated flange seal (36). The flange seal (36) may extend around the circumference of the stator and be sandwiched between portions of the pump body (52). The stator may have a noncircular shape that keys the stator within the pump body. The pump may include an optical metering system.
POWERED BLENDING CONTAINER
A blending device is shown and described. The blending device may include a blending container and a power source operatively connected to the blending container. The power source may be configured to supply power to the blending container. The blending container may also include a feature that is powered by the power source.
Wine decanter pedestal with controllably variable swirl motion
A wine decanter pedestal system includes a base supported above a surface, the base having a base center axis and a ledge extending outward from its top surface to support a bottom surface of a decanter placed on the top surface. A wireless receiver receives wireless commands from a wireless device to control a rotary motor operably coupled to the base at an attachment point off-center from the base center axis such that rotation of the rotary motor causes the base center axis to orbit about the rotary drive in a circular orbital motion and in a circular spin motion. A weight sensor measures a weight of a decanter placed upon the base, and a controller automatically adjusts the torque of the rotary drive in response to the weight measured by the weight sensor to increase torque for heavier weights measured and decrease torque for lighter weights measured.
Methods and Systems for Pharmaceutical Compounding
A computer-implemented method for execution by a processor of a computing device. The method comprises implementing a computerized graphical user interface (GUI) that provides a user of the computing device with an opportunity to identify a pharmaceutical compounding formula; consulting a database at least partly on a basis of the identified pharmaceutical compounding formula in order to determine mixing parameters for a planetary mixer, associated with the identified pharmaceutical compounding formula; and causing a mixer to subject a container to superimposed rotation and revolution movements in accordance with the mixing parameters determined from consulting the database.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COLORING HAIR
A system for scanning a client's hair color and dispensing hair coloring to change the clients hair color from an initial color to a target color is disclosed. The system comprises an input for reading the measured color from the scanning device, a processor configured to compare the measured color to a desired target hair color and develop a coloring protocol for changing the clients current hair color to the desired target color, and a dispenser for dispensing one or more formulations that follow the protocol.
Smoothie machine and methods of making smoothies
Methods and systems for conveniently producing fresh smoothies, which can be tailored to the particular nutritional requirements and desires of the individual customer. The system is typically a semi-automatic or fully automatic system and may be in the form of a vending machine for smoothies. It allows a consumer to select ingredients and other options, and provides a freshly-made smoothie in a short amount of time. The system generally includes a user input apparatus for receiving orders and customer preferences, and then makes a smoothie to order, delivers the smoothie to the customer, and cleans the blending device.
Cosmetic Manufacturing Method, Apparatus for Formulating a Customised Cosmetic Product, Cosmetic Product Mixer and Server Configured for Preparing a Cosmetic Product
There is described a method of formulating a customised cosmetic product, comprising the steps of: a) dispensing ingredients according to a recipe for the cosmetic product into a vessel (422) containing a mixing component (1201); b) mixing the ingredients with the mixing component to form a mixed intermediate; and c) increasing the viscosity of the intermediate to form the cosmetic product by ceasing mixing and/or adding a further ingredient. An apparatus for formulating a customised cosmetic product comprising an inventory section, a dispensing section and a vessel located in the dispensing section is also described. Furthermore, a method and apparatus for formulating a customised cosmetic product comprising selecting a cosmetic product mixer from a plurality of cosmetic product mixers based on the generation of second data based on first data indicative of a biometric measurement of a user,
