Carbonation method
11219873 · 2022-01-11 ·

A method and apparatus for carbonating a liquid in a pressurizable vessel, including first connecting a vessel with a carbon dioxide tank, wherein said vessel contains a liquid. A vessel can then be pressurized with carbon dioxide to a desired pressure. A pump or compressor can be activated to circulate gas through a hose out of the head space of the vessel to a carbonating stone back into the vessel. After a pre-determined period of time the pump is deactivated, and the carbon dioxide can cease to be introduced to the liquid within the vessel.

Systems and methods for nanofunctionalization of powders

Some variations provide a system for producing a functionalized powder, comprising: an agitated pressure vessel; first particles and second particles contained within the agitated pressure vessel; a fluid contained within the agitated pressure vessel; an exhaust line for releasing the fluid from the agitated pressure vessel; and a means for recovering a functionalized powder containing the second particles disposed onto surfaces of the first particles. A preferred fluid is carbon dioxide in liquefied or supercritical form. The carbon dioxide may be initially loaded into the pressure vessel as solid carbon dioxide. The pressure vessel may be batch or continuous and is operated under reaction conditions to functionalize the first particles with the second particles, thereby producing a functionalized powder, such as nanofunctionalized metal particles in which nanoparticles act as grain refiners for a component ultimately produced from the nanofunctionalized metal particles. Methods for making the functionalized powder are also disclosed.

The polymer flocculant mixing and dissolving system can stably supply the solution in an amount required in the downstream process.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MIXER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARRIER

A method, for controlling a mixer that mixes materials through rotation of an impeller while a solvent contained in the materials is evaporated under negative pressure, performs a process in which the mixer is operated while the pressure inside the mixer is increased or decreased according to a predetermined profile. When a power value of the impeller exceeds a predetermined upper limit during the operation of the mixer, the pressure inside the mixer is increased. When the power value falls below a predetermined lower limit during the operation of the mixer, the pressure inside the mixer is decreased.
