The system includes an ultrapure water source and a gas mixture source in fluid communication with a contactor. The gas mixture includes ammonia gas and a carrier gas. The system includes a control unit configured to adjust a flow rate of the ultrapure water source such that an operational pressure of the contactor remains below a pressure threshold. The system includes a compressor configured to remove a residual transfer gas out of the contactor. The contactor generates a rinsing liquid having ultrapure water and a concentration of the ammonia gas dissolved therein. The system includes a pump in fluid communication between the contactor and an outlet. The pump is configured to deliver the rinsing liquid having a gaseous partial pressure below the pressure threshold at the outlet.
VOLUMETRIC AND GRAVIMETRIC FILL LEVEL FOR PRODUCING A GAS MIXTURE
A method for producing a gas mixture in a gas container is provided, having a plurality of components. At least one first component is volumetrically metered, said first component being locked into at least one sample volume of a plurality of sample volumes from a storage container of the first component and conducted into the gas container from the at least one sample volume, and at least one second component is gravimetrically metered, wherein the at least one second component is conducted from a storage container of the at least one second component into the gas container, and the gas container is weighed using a scale in order to determine the content of the at least one second component. A device for carrying out the method is also provided.
MICROFLUIDIC TECHNIQUE FOR DETECTION OF MULTI-CONTACT MISCIBILITY
A microfluidic apparatus includes a substrate defining a microchannel having inlet and an outlet defining a length of the microchannel. The microchannel has a main channel extending from the inlet to the outlet, and a plurality of side cavities extending from the main channel. The cavities are in fluid communication with the main channel. A method includes introducing a sample into the microchannel through the inlet to fill the entire microchannel, and then introducing a solvent into the microchannel through the inlet at a controlled flow rate and inlet pressure. A developed solvent front then moves along the main channel from the inlet to the outlet while displacing the sample in the main channel. Images of the microchannel are acquired as the front moves, and a miscibility condition is determined based on the images.
Systems and methods for generating a conductive liquid comprising deionized water with ammonia gas dissolved therein
Systems and methods are described for dissolving ammonia gas in deionized water. The system includes a deionized water source and a gas mixing device including a first inlet for receiving ammonia gas, a second inlet for receiving a transfer gas, and a mixed gas outlet for outputting a gas mixture comprising the ammonia gas and the transfer gas. The system includes a contactor that receives the deionized water and the gas mixture and generates deionized water having ammonia gas dissolved therein. The system includes a sensor in fluid communication with at least one inlet of the contactor for measuring a flow rate of the deionized water, and a controller in communication with the sensor. The controller sets a flow rate of the ammonia gas based on the flow rate of the deionized water measured by the sensor, and a predetermined conductivity set point.
Slurry injection system and method for operating the same
A slurry injection system includes low and high pressure clear fluid manifolds. Low pressure clear fluid is pressurized and communicated to high pressure manifold. A blender unit communicates slurry through a sensor system that generates a flow rate signal and a density signal of the low pressure slurry. The slurry pressurizer is in fluid communication with the high pressure clear fluid manifold through a bypass pump, a mixer, the blender unit and the low pressure clear fluid manifold. The slurry pressurizer forms high pressure slurry that is communicated to the mixer and communicates fluid to the low pressure clear fluid manifold. The mixer mixes the high pressure slurry and high pressure clear fluid from the high pressure clear fluid manifold to form a mixture that is communicated to a slurry injection site. A controller controls the bypass pump using the flow rate and density to control a density of slurry.

A mixing apparatus includes a mixer configured to mix a material including a rubber or a resin in the presence of a working fluid that is in a supercritical state or a subcritical state. The mixer includes a chamber that forms a flow passage for the working fluid and the material, and a mixing blade disposed in the chamber and fixed to the chamber.
Methods to nitrogen-infuse and dispense beverages
In a method for infusing a gas from a gas source into a liquid beverage, liquid beverage is driven from a beverage container into a liquid inlet port of a venturi mixing device. Nitrogen is infused into the liquid beverage by driving nitrogen through a gas inlet port of the venturi mixing device, thereby delivering nitrogen-infused liquid beverage to a discharge port of the venturi mixing device. The nitrogen-infused liquid beverage is poured from the discharge port through a faucet.
