A gas-liquid contact apparatus has a gas-liquid contact unit, a liquid supply system, and a gas supply system. The gas-liquid contact unit includes a plurality of stages which are allocated so as to be arranged in the lateral direction. Each of the plurality of stages includes a plurality of vertical flat plates arranged parallel to each other at intervals. The liquid supply system supplies a liquid to the gas-liquid contact unit, and causes the liquid to be circulated along the arrangement of the plurality of stages successively. The gas supply system supplies a gas to the gas-liquid contact unit, and causes the gas to be circulated along the arrangement of the plurality of stages successively. The supplied liquid flows down on the plurality of vertical flat plates in each of the plurality of stages, and comes into contact with the supplied gas.

Blender jar assembly and associated blender

A blender jar assembly comprises a container portion having an open end for receiving the foodstuff to be blended and for dispensing the foodstuff after blending and a base portion selectively coupled to the container portion. The base portion comprises a floor and a sidewall connected to and extending from the floor to form a chamber for receiving at least a portion of the foodstuff during a blending operation. The chamber has an open end in fluid communication with the open end of the container portion when the container portion and the base portion are selectively coupled. The base further comprises one or more rotatable blades that are fully contained within the chamber formed by the floor and the sidewall and do not extend beyond a rim of the sidewall.

Blending system

A blending system is shown and described herein. The blending system may include a base including a motor, a blade assembly selectively and operably engaged with the base, where the motor drives the blade assembly, and a container having a cavity. The container includes a flute protruding from an inner surface. An exaggerated flute may extend closer to the blade assembly than the flute.

An emulsification module for a food processor enables the careful and methodical introduction of ingredients (e.g., oil) into the main container, thus allowing the same to emulsify the ingredients. The emulsification module includes a container configured to be removably connected to, and rotate with, the rotating blade assembly, and one or more oil dispensers positioned on a side surface thereof. The centrifugal forces generated by the rotation of the blade assembly causes the oil in the container to be propelled up the inside walls of the same and come out of the oil dispensers and drizzle down the side walls of the main container. Whisk members positioned on the bottom of the module (between the blades of the blade assembly) assist in mixing of the drizzled oil with the ingredients to achieve the desired emulsification.

The confined plunging liquid jet reactor with modified downcomer includes a downcomer having an upper end, an open lower end, and a gas inlet for receiving gas. A plurality of longitudinally-extending baffles and/or a sieve are mounted in the downcomer, adjacent the open lower end thereof. A nozzle is mounted on the upper end of the downcomer for receiving a pressurized liquid from an external source to generate a liquid jet. The liquid jet impinges on liquid contained within the downcomer creating turbulence and bubbles with the gas entrained therein. The open lower end of the downcomer is positioned within a receiving tank holding a reservoir of the liquid such that a portion of the mixture of the liquid and the gas exits the open lower end of the downcomer to flow into the receiving tank.

An impeller is usable in a variable diameter bioreactor having multiple vessel sections of successively increasing or decreasing volume. The impeller includes an impeller blade extending along an impeller blade axis between first and second axial ends and having opposed impeller blade faces, an impeller blade leading edge, and an impeller blade trailing edge. Each of the leading and trailing edges defines a helix or spiral between the axial ends of the impeller blade. In certain arrangements, the impeller blade is one of at least two impeller blades joined together along an impeller shaft extending axially along the impeller blade axis mentioned, and the helix or spiral has a pitch approximately equal to one half of a length between the first and second axial ends.

The present disclosure also provides a process for extracting resin from plant material, comprising placing a quantity of plant material within a strainer basket comprising walls constructed from a mesh material, submersing the strainer basket in a tank filled with chilled water at a temperature in the range of 0-10 Celsius, agitating the plant material and chilled water within the strainer basket to separate trichomes from the plant material, and removing a mixture of water and trichomes from an outlet at the bottom of the tank.

A system and method for introducing a slurry mixture for making gypsum board is disclosed. The system includes, for example, a mixer, a foam injector, and a canister for mixing and moving a slurry mixture of foam and gypsum slurry. Also included in the system is an apparatus having a funnel body constructed and arranged to further mix the slurry mixture. The funnel body includes a number of baffles projecting from its inner wall towards a center and that are spaced around the inner wall. The baffles induce turbulence into the slurry mixture as the slurry mixture moves towards its outlet, thus further mixing the mixture and reducing the flow rate of the slurry mixture before its exits from the outlet for depositing onto paper to form the gypsum board.
