A cartridge for mixing and injecting bone cement includes a body including a cylindrical member, a first coupler and a second coupler at a first open end and a second open end of the cylindrical member, respectively, a first opening/closing member detachably coupled with the first coupler, a second opening/closing member detachably coupled with the second coupler, and a mixing ball in an internal space of the body. A bone cement mixing and transferring system includes the cartridge having powder and liquid components of bone cement inserted and mixing the powder and liquid components, an injection tube coupled with the cartridge after removing the first opening/closing member from the cartridge, and a cement gun mounted to a rear side of the second opening/closing member, the cement gun applying pressure for injecting bone cement mixed in the cartridge into an area to be treated via the injection tube.
Manual mixer
A manual mixer serves to facilitate mixing and agitating materials for use during surgery. For example, the manual mixer includes a body portion defining an interior area, a mixing assembly provided in the interior area of the body portion, a crank assembly for actuating the mixing assembly, and a valve assembly. The mixing assembly serves to mix and agitate the materials provided in the interior through rotation of a plunger portion and a spring attached thereto, and through upwards and downwards movement of the plunger portion in the interior area. Rotation of the crank assembly serves to rotate the plunger portion and the spring attached thereto, and effectuate upwards and downwards movement of the plunger portion. The valve assembly can be opened to facilitate dispensing of the materials from the interior area.
System and method for harvesting emulsified fat and stem cells
A mixing apparatus operable to be reciprocated in vessel such as a syringe, and operable to combine with the stopper of the syringe so that transfers are minimized and the system remains closed and sterile. In particular, an emulsifying apparatus is described that efficiently breaks down fat cells with a few strokes of the shaft. The mixing and emulsifying apparatuses have applications in many applications in which mixing, emulsifying and transfer are desired.
POWDER-LIQUID BONE CEMENT MIXER WITH COMPRESSED GAS CONNECTION
The invention relates to a device and method for producing a bone cement paste (54) from a monomer liquid (4) and a cement powder (5). The device includes a cartridge (1) with a cylindrical interior chamber for mixing the parent components, whereby the interior chamber of the cartridge (1) is closed on the front side up to a delivery opening for expelling the bone cement paste (54) from the interior chamber, a delivery plunger (7) which is arranged in the interior chamber of the cartridge (1) and which is supported in a linearly movable manner in the direction of the delivery opening, the cement powder (5), which is arranged in the interior chamber of the cartridge (1) between the delivery opening and the delivery plunger (7), a monomer receptacle (2) with an interior chamber in which a monomer liquid container (3) containing the monomer liquid (4) is contained, whereby in the monomer receptacle (2), a conveying plunger (6) is arranged movable in the longitudinal direction of the monomer receptacle (2), a compressed gas connection (8), which is directly connected or connected via a compressed gas line in a pressure-tight manner with the interior chamber of the monomer receptacle (2), whereby the conveying plunger (6) is arranged between the monomer liquid container (3) and the compressed gas connection (8) or the compressed gas line in the monomer receptacle (2), and a connection (14) which connects the interior chamber of the monomer receptacle (2) and the interior chamber of the cartridge (1) which is permeable for the monomer liquid (4) but impermeable for the cement powder (5), whereby the monomer liquid container (3) is arranged between the conveying plunger (6) and the connection (14).
Cosmetics portioning machine
A cosmetic portioning machine is provided having a mixing chamber, with a plurality of inlets each of which provides an ingredient. A piston disposed in the mixing chamber to define a mixing volume. A dasher is disposed in the mixing chamber and mixes the ingredients together in the mixing volume so as to form a cosmetic. When the cosmetic product is thoroughly mixed, the piston urges the product out of the mixing chamber and through an outlet. A moveable sealing member is configured to pass through the outlet so as to seal off fluid communication between the mixing chamber and the outlet and to urge any remaining cosmetic product through the outlet.
System and process for mass customization and instant on-demand formulation and manufacturing
A system for the mass production of personalized health and beauty formulations is provided that is then produced on-demand production thereof. A user selects specific personal or product attributes through an interactive selection process either online or at a retail location. An individual product recipe is then created from an interactive ingredient database, and a detailed production formulation is then enabling through an automated, on demand production cell in which ingredients are either sequentially or simultaneously dosed into an in-situ mixing container. Mixing of liquids occurs after the container is sealed and the same container provides the final user packaging. Manufacturing control, labeling, packaging and compliance traceability are all codified, tracked, traced and saved through the entire integrated selection and production system.
Apparatus and Method for Formulation and Dispensing of Visually Customized Cosmetics
A portioning machine for providing a custom cosmetic includes a mixer having a mixing chamber and also accommodates a plurality of dispensers having outlets that are directly coupled to the mixing chamber. In one embodiment, the portioning machine includes a plurality of slots, where each slot is configured to receive an assembly having at least one dispenser. In another embodiment, the portioning machine includes a slot configured to receive an assembly having a plurality of dispensers. Each dispenser is associated with an actuator, and the portioning machine includes a portioning processor configured to control the actuators to dispense additives from selected dispensers into the mixing chamber in accordance with a target set of additive ratios to produce the custom cosmetic.
DISCHARGE DEVICE FOR LIQUID MATERIAL CONTAINING SOLID PARTICLES, DISCHARGE METHOD AND COATING DEVICE
A device and a method for accurately discharging a fixed amount of a liquid, the liquid containing solid particles, in a state that the solid particles are dispersed in the liquid material. The device includes a first reservoir, a first air pressure supply pipe, a metering portion having a metering hole, a plunger moving back and forth in the metering hole, a nozzle, a switching valve having a first position and a second position, a plunger driver, and a switching valve driver. The discharge device further includes a second reservoir, a second air pressure supply pipe, a branch portion provided in an upper portion of the metering hole and having a branch flow path, and an opening/closing mechanism that establishes or cuts off communication between the second reservoir and the metering hole. A discharge method is carried out using the discharge device.

A system for providing a single serving of a frozen confection, wherein the system comprises a pod comprising at least one ingredient for providing a single serving of a frozen confection; the system cools the pod; the system introduces water into the pod; the system simultaneously stirs the contents of the pod while scraping at least one wall of the pod to prevent a build-up of the frozen confection on the at least one wall of the pod; and the system ejects the frozen confection out of the pod.
Manifold for filling plural cannulae, the manifold including rotating fittings that close when a cannula is removed from the fitting and that open when a cannula is attached to the fitting
A manifold for loading plural cannulae with a substance is described. The manifold includes a housing with a plurality of channels that route the flow of the mixed substance from a single central channel to multiple sub-channels for the simultaneous filling of attached cannulae. Each sub-channel extends to a fitting to which a cannula may be attached. The fittings are rotatably mounted to the housing. A lock assembly holds the cannulae to the individual fittings are so that when a cannula is removed from a fitting, the fitting rotates so as to close the fluid path from the sub-channel. In order to attach a second cannula to the same fitting the lock system requires the fitting to be rotates into a position in which the fluid communications path from the associated sub-channel is reopened.
