HYDROPROCESSING CATALYST FOR THE REDUCTION OF METALS AND SULFUR IN HEAVY FEEDS
A catalyst comprising a carrier and a metals component impregnated in the carrier, the carrier comprising alumina; and the metals component comprising a first metals fraction and a second metals fraction, the first metals fraction comprising at least one metal selected from chromium, molybdenum, or tungsten, and the second metals fraction comprising at least two metals selected from cobalt, rhodium, iridium, nickel, palladium, or platinum, wherein the catalyst has a first pore volume of 0.28 to 0.45 mL/g for pores having a pore diameter of 12 nm to less than 16 nm, and a second pore volume of 0.15 to 0.28 mL/g for pores of 2.0 nm to less than 12.0 nm.

The invention has as its object a catalyst that comprises a substrate based on alumina or silica or silica-alumina, at least one element from group VIII, at least one element from group VIB, and at least one additive that is selected from among 2-acetylbutyrolactone and/or its hydrolysis products, 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-3-oxobutanoic acid, and 3-hydroxy-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-butenoic acid. The invention also relates to the method for preparation of said catalyst and its use in a method for hydrotreatment and/or hydrocracking.

A highly active trimetallic mixed transition metal oxide material has been developed. The material may be sulfided to generate metal sulfides which are used as a catalyst in a conversion process such as hydroprocessing. The hydroprocessing may include hydrodenitrification, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodemetallation, hydrodesilication, hydrodearomatization, hydroisomerization, hydrotreating, hydrofining, and hydrocracking.

HYDROTREATING CATALYST WITH A TITANIUM CONTAINING CARRIER AND ORGANIC ADDITIVE
Disclosed is a catalyst for use in hydrotreating hydrocarbon feedstocks and methods of making the same catalyst. Specifically, a catalyst is disclosed comprises at least one Group VIB metal component, at least one Group VIII metal component, an organic additive resulting in a C-content of the final catalysts of about 1 to about 30 wt % C, and preferably about 1 to about 20 wt % C, and more preferably about 5 to about 15 wt % C and a titanium-containing carrier component, wherein the amount of the titanium component is in the range of about 3 to about 60 wt %, expressed as an oxide (TiO.sub.2) and based on the total weight of the catalyst. The titanium-containing carrier is formed by co-extruding or precipitating a titanium source with a AI.sub.2O.sub.3 precursor to form a porous support material primarily comprising AI.sub.2O.sub.3 or by impregnating a titanium source onto a porous support material primarily comprising AI.sub.2O.sub.3. Special preference is given to alumina and alumina containing up to and no more than 1 wt % of silica, preferably no more than 0.5 wt % based on the total weight of the support (dry base).
SEPARATION METHOD AND ASSEMBLY FOR PROCESS STREAMS IN COMPONENT SEPARATION UNITS
A method for removing contaminants from a process stream that includes the use of reticulated material to filter the process stream. The reticulated material also facilitate process stream flow distribution in process units. The reticulated material can be packed with a void space between a substantial number of the reticulated material that can be varied to enhance filtration and flow distribution. The method of filtering also provides a method of removing contaminants leaving process equipment. The methods can be used on a variety of process streams and process equipment. The reticulated material can include ceramics, metallic materials, and chemical vapor deposition elements. The reticulated material can be of various shapes and sizes, and can also be catalytically active.
HYDROTREATING CATALYST WITH A TITANIUM CONTAINING CARRIER AND SULFUR CONTAINING ORGANIC ADDITIVE
Generally, it is disclosed a catalyst for use in a hydrotreating hydrocarbon feedstocks and the method of making such catalyst. It is generically provided that the catalyst comprises at least one Group VIB metal component, at least one Group VIII metal component, about (1) to (about (30) wt % C, and preferably about (1) to about (20) wt % C, and more preferably about (5) to about 15 wt % C of one or more sulfur containing organic additive and a titanium-containing carrier component, wherein the amount of the titanium component is in the range of about (3) to (about (60) wt %, expressed as an oxide (Ti0.sub.2) and based on the total weight of the catalyst. The titanium-containing carrier is formed by co-extruding or precipitating a titanium source with a Al203 precursor to form a porous support material comprising Al.sub.20.sub.3 or by impregnating a titanium source onto a porous support material comprising Al.sub.20.sub.3.
CATALYST SYSTEMS THAT INCLUDE METAL OXIDE CO-CATALYSTS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PROPYLENE
Embodiments of methods of synthesizing a metathesis catalyst system, which include impregnating tungsten oxide on silica support in the presence of a precursor to produce a base catalyst; calcining the base catalyst; impregnating a metal oxide co-catalyst comprising a metal oxide onto the surface of the base catalyst to produce a doped catalyst; and calcining the doped catalyst to produce a metathesis catalyst system. Further embodiments of processes for the production of propylene, which include contacting a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising a mixture of 1-butene and 2-butene with embodiments of the metathesis catalyst system to produce, via metathesis conversion, a product stream comprising propylene.
