A fishing lure has a jig, a skirt and a bait. The jig has a jig head, with a hook extending from the jig head. A skirt anchor extends from the jig head toward the point of the hook point along an imaginary line, so as to be offset from the shank of the hook. A skirt is coupled to the skirt anchor. A bait keeper is pivotally coupled to the skirt anchor. The flexible bait is rigged in a weedless configuration, with one end of the bait coupled to the bait keeper and the other end receiving the hook point. The skirt is coupled to the skirt anchor so that the skirt streamers extend adjacent to the bait when the lure is retrieved in water. When a fish bites the lure, the first end portion of the bait body flexes away from the imaginary line for engaging the hook point into the fish to allow the hook to more easily penetrate into the fish.

A live-crustacean holding fishing device and methods of making it are disclosed. The device includes a clasp attached to a long shank fishing hook. The clasp has a shell grasping portion at one end and is attached to tubular stretchable hook-casing at the other. The hook-casing has an attached ring tab. A live crustation is attached by fitting the shell grasping portion of the clasp between the carapace and first segment of the abdomen, then stretching the hook-casing so that the ring tab fits over the shrimp's horn. This secures the live crustation to the hook, but allows it to live and swim freely thereby serving as a live lure. The clasp is either glued to, or molded around, the shank of the hook. The hook-casing is secured to the clasp either by an adhesive or by lateral openings that fit over lateral protrusions on the clasp.

An apparatus for releasing a fish into deep water, comprising a central member having an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a spiral member attached to the central member, the spiral member being spaced away from the central member and having a free end, a plurality of swivels, wherein one of the swivels can be connected the upper end portion of the central member and another of said swivels can be connected to the lower end portion of the central member, and a weight connected to the lower swivel. The device can further provide a weight on the central member that overcomes buoyancy of the fish.

An apparatus for releasing a fish into deep water, comprising a central member having an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a spiral member attached to the central member, the spiral member being spaced away from the central member and having a free end, a plurality of swivels, wherein one of the swivels can be connected the upper end portion of the central member and another of said swivels can be connected to the lower end portion of the central member, and a weight connected to the lower swivel. The device can further provide a weight on the central member that overcomes buoyancy of the fish.

A bait grasping device for fishing includes first and second grasping members pivotally engaged together with a spring. The spring is tensioned by the pivotal rotation of the first and second inwardly directed prongs of the lower portion of the first and second grasping members away from each other. The spring exerts compression force to position the first and second inwardly directed prongs together to grasp bait. A hook assembly having a hook, an elongate member and an eyelet, is engaged to the first and second grasping members by passing the elongate member through the first and second grasping members and the spring. The hook is disposed proximate to a head of the bait and the first and said second inwardly directed prongs grasp opposite sides of the bait.

A bait grasping device for fishing includes first and second grasping members pivotally engaged together with a spring. A spinning blade mechanism for fishing bait includes a spinner that is rotationally carried on a sleeve cone. The sleeve cone has in interior cavity that is dimensioned to carry a head of a fishing bait. When the fishing bait is a bait fish, the sleeve cone prevents the deterioration of the bait fish as it is trolled through the water. The spinner provides a fish attracting vibration to attract game fish to the lure.

A fishing lure is disclosed herein. The fishing lure includes a fishing lure body, a tow eyelet, a support rod, a first hook eyelet, a first hook, a second eyelet and a second hook. The fishing lure allows a user to hook a fish without worrying about losing their bait.
