EBULLATED BED PROCESS FOR HIGH CONVERSION OF HEAVY HYDROCARBONS WITH A LOW SEDIMENT YIELD
An ebullated bed process for the hydroconversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks that provides for high conversion of the heavy hydrocarbon with a low sediment yield. The process uses for its catalyst bed small particles of a specifically defined shaped hydroprocessing catalyst which is contacted with the heavy hydrocarbon feedstock under hydroconversion conditions and yields a hydrocarbon conversion having a relatively low sediment content.

METHOD OF OPERATING AN EBULLATED BED PROCESS TO REDUCE SEDIMENT YIELD
An improved method of operating a conventional ebullated bed process for the hydroconversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks so as to provide for low or reduced sediment content in the conversion product without the loss of hydrodesulfurization function.

An ebullated bed process for the hydroconversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks that provides for high conversion of the heavy hydrocarbon with a low sediment yield. The process uses for its catalyst bed an impregnated shaped ebullated bed catalyst having a low macroporosity and a geometry such that its characteristic cross section perimeter-to-cross sectional area is within a specifically defined range.

Supported Hydrotreating Catalysts Having Enhanced Activity
This invention provides supported catalysts comprising a carrier, phosphorus, at least one Group VI metal, at least one Group VIII metal, and a polymer. In the supported catalyst, the molar ratio of phosphorus to Group VI metal is about 1:1.5 to less than about 1:12, the molar ratio of the Group VI metal to the Group VIII metal is about 1:1 to about 5:1, and the polymer has a carbon backbone and comprises an amido group. Also provided are a process for preparing such supported catalysts, as well as methods for hydrotreating, hydrodenitrogenation, and/or hydrodesulfurization, using supported catalysts.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING CONTINUOUS ACRYLIC ACID THROUGH PROPANE PARTIAL OXIDATION REACTION
This invention relates to a method of continuously preparing acrylic acid and an apparatus using the same, the method including: (1) subjecting a feed including propane, oxygen, water vapor and carbon dioxide to partial oxidation using a catalyst, thus obtaining an acrylic acid-containing mixed gas, (2) separating the acrylic acid-containing mixed gas into an acrylic acid-containing solution and a gas byproduct, (3) separating an acrylic acid solution from the separated acrylic acid-containing solution, and (4) recycling the separated gas byproduct into the feed.
Use of catalyst prepared with a subgroup VI element for the production of organic chemicals and fuels from lignin
A process for the production of organic chemicals and fuels from lignin in the presence of a molybdenum or tungsten based catalyst, comprising mixing the lignin with the catalyst and a solvent in a sealed reactor, introducing an inert gas or hydrogen to the reactor to replace oxygen therein, and heating the sealed reactor to perform a depolymerization reaction at a reaction temperature of above 200° C. to obtain liquid products, which include aromatic compounds, esters, alcohols, monophenols and benzyl alcohols.
