Zeolite with encapsulated platinum
A method of making a zeolite with encapsulated platinum is provided. The method includes dissolving an aluminum source in water to form a first solution, dissolving a hydroxide in water to form a second solution, dissolving a templating agent in water to form a third solution, and adding a silica source to the first solution to form a fourth solution. The method further includes adding the second solution to the fourth solution to form a fifth solution, adding the third solution to the fifth solution to form a sixth solution, and adding a platinum source to the sixth solution. The sixth solution is crystallized to form a solid product, which is recovered. The solid product is calcined. An ammonium ion exchange is performed on the solid product to form a second solid product, and the second solid product is calcined.

Sequential impregnation for noble metal alloy formation
Methods are provided for forming noble metal catalysts comprising both platinum and a second Group VIII metal, such as palladium, with improved aromatic saturation activity. Instead of impregnating a catalyst with both platinum and another Group VIII metal at the same time, a sequential impregnation can be used, with the Group VIII metal being impregnated prior to platinum. It has been discovered that by forming a Group VIII metal-impregnated catalyst first, and then impregnating with platinum, the distribution of platinum throughout the catalyst can be improved. The improved distribution of platinum can result in a catalyst with enhanced aromatic saturation activity relative to a catalyst with a similar composition formed by simultaneous impregnation.

METHOD
The present disclosure relates to a method for forming a catalyst article comprising: (a) forming a slurry having a solids content of up to 50 wt % by mixing together at least the following components a crystalline molecular sieve in an H.sup.+ or NH.sub.4.sup.+ form, an insoluble active metal precursor and an aqueous solvent at a temperature in the range 10 to 35° C.; (b) coating a substrate with the slurry formed in step (a); and (c) calcining the coated substrate formed in step (b) to form a catalyst layer on the substrate. The present disclosure further relates to a catalyst article, particularly a catalyst article which is suitable for use in the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides, and to an exhaust system.
ZEOLITE CATALYST FOR HYDROCARBON OXIDATION AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A manufacturing method of a hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst and a catalyst therefrom, including preparing a positive ion type of zeolite, and supporting palladium (Pd) in the positive ion type of zeolite by an ion exchange method to obtain a palladium-supported zeolite, wherein an amount of the supported palladium is 0.5 to 5 wt % based on an entire weight of the hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst.
PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR BASE OIL PRODUCTION USING BIMETALLIC SSZ-91 CATALYST
An improved process and catalyst system for making a base oil product and for reducing base oil aromatics content, while also providing good product yields. The process and catalyst system generally involves the use of a bimetallic SSZ-91 catalyst by contacting the catalyst with a hydrocarbon feedstock to provide dewaxed base oil products.
