Catalyst composition comprising a carrier and one or more Group 10 metal components, wherein the carrier comprises (i) 20 to 90 wt % mordenite having a silica to alumina molar ratio in the range of from 10 to 60; (ii) 10 to 70 wt % ZSM-5 type zeolite having a silica to alumina molar ratio in the range of from 5 to 50 and an average particle size in the range of from 5 to 50 nm; and (iii) 10 to 50 wt % of binder; a process for preparing the catalyst, and a process for the conversion of an aromatic hydrocarbons-containing feedstock using the catalyst.

Process for preparing a catalyst

The present disclosure relates to a process for preparing a catalyst. The process comprises coating zeolite gel over the alumina support to obtain a chloride free zeolite gel coated alumina support, crystallizing the chloride free zeolite gel coated alumina support, washing, drying and calcining the crystallized zeolite coated alumina support to obtain a calcined crystallized chloride free zeolite coated alumina support, treating the calcined crystallized chloride free zeolite coated alumina support with ammonium nitrate to obtain sodium free support, washing, drying, and calcining the support to obtain a calcined chloride free zeolite coated alumina support, immersing the calcined chloride free zeolite coated alumina support in an active metal and a promoter metal solution mixture followed by stirring to obtain a metal coated chloride free zeolite coated alumina support, and drying and calcining the metal coated chloride free zeolite coated alumina support to obtain the catalyst.

Method for preparing ethylene glycol by hydrolysing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether

This invention provides a method for preparing ethylene glycol by hydrolyzing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether. The method comprises passing a fresh raw material containing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and water through a reaction zone loaded with a solid acid catalyst to react under the following conditions; separating the reacted mixture via a separation system to obtain a target product of ethylene glycol, by-products containing methanol, dimethyl ether and ethylene glycol-based derivatives, and an unreacted raw material containing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and water; passing the target product of ethylene glycol into a product collection system; and passing methyl alcohol and dimethyl ether in the by-products into a by-product collection system; and after being mixed with the fresh raw materials containing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and water, the ethylene glycol-based derivatives in the by-products and the unreacted raw material containing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and water being recycled into the reaction zone, to realize the preparation of ethylene glycol by hydrolyzing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether. This invention provides a new process to realize the preparation of ethylene glycol by hydrolyzing ethylene glycol monomethyl ether. And in the method, the catalyst has long life and good stability.

The method for producing a cluster-supporting catalyst, includes the following steps: providing a dispersion liquid containing a dispersion medium and boron-substitute zeolite particles dispersed in the dispersion medium; and in the dispersion liquid, forming catalyst metal clusters having a positive charge, and supporting the catalyst metal clusters on the acid sites within the pores of the boron-substitute zeolite particles through an electrostatic interaction.

A method of using a heat generating catalyst in a hydrocarbon cracking process. The method includes providing a catalyst bed reactor which includes a catalyst bed of the heat generating catalyst disposed in the catalyst bed reactor. The heat generating catalyst includes at least one mordenite framework-inverted (MFI) zeolite catalyst having a Si/Al molar ratio of 15 or greater, and at least one metal oxide dispersed within a microstructure of the MFI zeolite catalyst. The method additionally includes introducing a hydrocarbon feed to the catalyst bed reactor and cracking the hydrocarbon feed to produce a cracking product. Additionally, an associated method of making the heat generating catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking is provided.

A method of making a heat generating catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking. The method includes providing at least one mordenite framework-inverted (MFI) zeolite having a Si/Al molar ratio of 15 or greater and providing at least one metal oxide precursor. Further, the at least one metal oxide precursor is dispersed within a microstructure of the MFI zeolite catalyst. The method additionally includes calcining the heat generating material with the at least one metal oxide precursor dispersed within the microstructure of the MFI zeolite catalyst to form at least one metal oxide in situ. The heat generating catalyst includes at least one MFI zeolite and at least one metal oxide in a ratio between 50:50 and 95:5. Additionally, an associated method of using the heat generating catalyst in a hydrocarbon cracking process is provided.
