MANUFACTURING HYDROCARBONS
Systems and a method for manufacturing a base stock from a hydrocarbon stream are provided. An example method includes cracking the hydrocarbon stream to form a raw product stream, separating an ethylene stream from the raw product stream, and oligomerizing the ethylene stream to form a raw oligomer stream. A Light olefinic stream is distilled from the raw oligomer stream and oligomerized the light olefinic stream with the ethylene stream. A heavy olefinic stream is distilled from the raw oligomer stream. The heavy olefinic stream is to form a hydro-processed and distilled to form the base stock.
MANUFACTURING A BASE STOCK FROM ETHANOL
Methods and a system for manufacturing a base stock from an ethanol stream are provided. An example method includes dehydrating an ethanol stream to form an impure ethylene stream, recovering an ethylene stream from the impure ethylene stream, and oligomerizing the ethylene stream to form a raw oligomer stream. A light olefinic stream is distilled from the raw oligomer stream and blended with the ethylene stream prior to the oligomerization. A heavy olefinic stream is distilled from the raw oligomer stream and hydro-processed to form a hydro-processed stream. The hydro-processed stream is distilled to form the base stock.
MOLECULAR SIEVES AND A PROCESS FOR MAKING MOLECULAR SIEVES
Processes are provided for preparing molecular sieves of framework structure MEI, TON, MRE, MWW, MFS, MOR, FAU, EMT, or MSE. The process involves preparing a synthesis mixture for the molecular sieve wherein the synthesis mixture includes a morphology modifier L selected from the group consisting of cationic surfactants having a quaternary ammonium group comprising at least one hydrocarbyl group having at least 12 carbon atoms, nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, sugars and combinations thereof.
PROCESS FOR MAKING MOLECULAR SIEVES
Processes are provided for preparing molecular sieves for use as catalysts. The process involves preparing a synthesis mixture for the molecular sieve wherein the synthesis mixture includes a morphology modifier which may be selected from cationic surfactants having a single quaternary ammonium group comprising at least one hydrocarbyl group having at least 12 carbon atoms, nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, sugars, and combinations thereof.
OLIGOMERIZATION OF OLEFINS DERIVED FROM OXYGENATES
Systems and methods are provided for conversion of oxygenate feeds to lubricant and/or distillate boiling range compounds with desirable properties by first selectively converting oxygenates to light olefins and then converting the light olefins to distillate and lubricant boiling range compounds with beneficial properties. The distillate boiling range products can have an unexpectedly high cetane, while the lubricant boiling range products can have an unexpectedly high viscosity index. The ability to form the distillate boiling range products and lubricant boiling range products is facilitated by using a Ni-enhanced oligomerization catalyst.

Process for reducing haze in heavy base oil and hydroisomerization catalyst system having reduced haze
A process for reducing haze in a heavy base oil includes: obtaining a first effluent oil by contacting a hydrocarbon feedstock with a first catalyst including a zeolite of the ZSM-12 family; and obtaining a second effluent oil by contacting the first effluent oil with a second catalyst including a zeolite of the ZSM-48 family. A hydroisomerization catalyst system having reduced haze includes: a first catalytic region having a first catalyst disposed therein, the first catalyst including a zeolite of the ZSM-12 family; and a second catalytic region having a second catalyst disposed therein, the second catalyst including a zeolite of the ZSM-48 family. The first catalytic region is disposed upstream of the second catalytic region.
Hydrocarbon conversion catalyst composition
A hydrocarbon conversion catalyst composition which comprises ZSM-48 and/or EU-2 zeolite particles and refractory oxide binder essentially free of alumina in which the average aluminium concentration of the ZSM-48 and/or EU-2 zeolite particles is at least 1.3 times the aluminium concentration at the surface of the particles, processes for preparing such catalyst compositions and processes for converting hydrocarbon feedstock with the help of such compositions.
HYDROCARBON CONVERSION CATALYST COMPOSITION
A hydrocarbon conversion catalyst composition which comprises dealuminated ZSM-48 and/or EU-2 zeolite and a refractory oxide binder essentially free of alumina, processes for preparing such composition and processes for converting hydrocarbon feedstock with the help of such compositions.
ALUMINUM-RICH *MRE FRAMEWORK TYPE MOLECULAR SIEVES
A method is provided for synthesizing aluminum-rich molecular sieves of *MRE framework type via interzeolite transformation of a FAU framework type zeolite in the presence of hexamethonium cations.
