Olefin methylation for production of low aromatic gasoline
Systems and methods are provided for conversion of a combined feed of oxygenates (such as methanol or dimethyl ether) and olefins to a high octane naphtha boiling range product with a reduced or minimized aromatics content. The oxygenate conversion can be performed under conditions that reduce or minimize hydrogen transfer. Optionally, a catalyst that further facilitates formation of branched paraffins can be used, such as a catalyst that has some type of 12-member ring site available on the catalyst surface.
METHOD FOR PREPARING DOUBLE-SEALED-END GLYCOL ETHER
Disclosed is a method for preparing a double end capped glycol ether, the method comprising: introducing into a reactor a raw material comprising a glycol monoether and a monohydric alcohol ether, and enabling the raw material to contact and react with an acidic molecular sieve catalyst to generate a double end capped glycol ether, a reaction temperature being 50-300° C., a reaction pressure being 0.1-15 MPa, a WHSV of the glycol monoether in the raw material being 0.01-15.0 h.sup.−1, and a mole ratio of the monohydric alcohol ether to the glycol monoether in the raw material being 1-100:1. The method of the present invention enables a long single-pass lifespan of the catalyst and repeated regeneration, has a high yield and selectivity of a target product, low energy consumption during separation of the product, a high economic value of a by-product, and is flexible in production scale and application.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING LIMONENE AND COMPOSITION CONTAINING LIMONENE
The invention relates to a method for producing limonene comprising or consisting of the following steps: (a) providing beta-pinene or a beta-pinene containing starting material; (b) admixing the starting material with a catalytically effective amount of a MWW-type zeolite; (C) heating the reaction mixture to a temperature in the range of between 60 and 100° C.; and optionally (d) separating the limonene or a limonene-enriched fraction from the sump.
FCC CATALYST WITH MORE THAN ONE SILICA, ITS PREPARATION AND USE
Process for the preparation of a catalyst and a catalyst comprising the use of more than one silica source is provided herein. Thus, in one embodiment, the invention provides a particulate FCC catalyst comprising about 5 to about 60 wt % one or more zeolites, about 15 to about 35 wt % quasicrystalline boehmite (QCB), about 0 to about 35 wt % microcrystalline boehmite (MCB), greater than about 0 to about 15 wt % silica from sodium stabilized basic colloidal silica, greater than about 0 to about 30 wt % silica from acidic colloidal silica or polysilicic acid, and the balance clay and the process for making the same. This process results in attrition resistant catalysts with a good accessibility.
Catalyst composition
The present invention provides an improved catalyst and a method for its manufacture. The catalyst comprises an acidic, porous crystalline material and has a Proton Density Index of greater than about 1.0, for example from greater than 1.0 to about 2.0, e.g. from about 1.01 to about 1.85. This catalyst may be used to effect conversion in chemical reactions, and is particularly useful in a process for selectively producing a monoalkylated aromatic compound comprising the step of contacting an alkylatable aromatic compound with an alkylating agent under at least partial liquid phase conditions. The acidic, porous crystalline material of the catalyst may comprise an acidic, crystalline molecular sieve having the structure of zeolite Beta, an MWW structure type material, e.g. MCM-22, MCM-36, MCM-49 MCM-56, or a mixture thereof.
Delamination of borosilicate layered zeolite
Provided is a surfactant-free, single-step synthesis of delaminated aluminosilicate zeolites. The process comprises the step of heating a borosilicate zeolite precursor in a metal salt solution, e.g., an aluminum nitrate solution, zinc nitrate solution or manganese nitrate solution. The delaminated aluminosilicate zeolite product is then recovered from the solution.
CATALYST SYSTEM FOR OLEFIN METATHESIS
The present invention relates to a catalyst system for olefin metathesis, the catalyst system comprising: a) a first system zone substantially comprising a layered double hydroxide; and b) a second system zone comprising a metathesis catalyst.
METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF 2-ALKOXY CYCLOHEXANOL
A method of preparing 2-alkoxycyclohexanol, a mixture comprising 2-alkoxycyclohexanol obtained via said method, and the use of said mixture for preparing 4-hydroxy-3-alkoxy-benzaldehyde.
PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN MWW ZEOLITIC MATERIAL COMPRISING BORON AND TITANIUM
A process for the preparation of a zeolitic material having an MWW framework structure and comprising boron and titanium, the process comprising (i) providing an aqueous synthesis mixture comprising a silica source, a boron source, a titanium source, and an MWW templating agent; (ii) heating the aqueous synthesis mixture to a temperature in the range of from 160 to 190° C.; (iii) subjecting the synthesis mixture (ii) to hydrothermal synthesis conditions, obtaining, in its mother liquor, a precursor of the zeolitic material; (iv) separating the precursor from its mother liquor; (v) calcining the separated precursor, obtaining the zeolitic material having an MWW framework structure and comprising boron and titanium.
Treatment of aromatic alkylation catalysts
The present disclosure relates to a method for treating a catalyst that is useful for producing mono-alkylaromatic compounds, the method comprises the steps of (a) contacting the untreated catalyst with water to produce water-contacted catalyst, and (b) drying the water-contacted catalyst with a drying gas without steam being formed at a temperature of less than 300° C. to produce a treated catalyst. The treatment is effective to improve the activity and catalyst selectivity. A process for producing a mono-alkylaromatic compound comprising such a catalyst treatment is also disclosed.
