Chemical reaction method using chemical reaction apparatus
A chemical reaction method includes preparing a chemical reaction apparatus including a horizontal flow reactor partitioned into multiple chambers by multiple partition plates. A liquid content horizontally flows with an unfilled space provided thereabove. a microwave generator and a waveguide that transmits microwaves to the unfilled space are also included. The reactor is inclined such that, in each of the chambers, a weir height on an inlet side is higher than a weir height on an outlet side by at least an overflow depth at the partition plate on the outlet side. The content is flowed over each of the multiple partition plates inside the reactor. The content flowing inside the reactor is irradiated with microwaves. The inclination angle of the reactor is changed in each of the chambers so that a weir height on an inlet side is higher than a weir height on an outlet side.

The present invention is concerned with a process for providing a homogeneous particle-containing slurry comprising the steps of: (a) providing a vessel comprising at least one impeller rotating around a vertical axis of the vessel, wherein a rotational speed n.sub.1 of the at least one impeller is higher than n.sub.min according to equation (1), the vessel further comprising an inlet and an outlet; (b) introducing a particle-containing slurry into the vessel or introducing components forming the particle-containing slurry into the vessel; (c) rotating the at least one impeller at least around the vertical axis for homogenizing and/or maintaining a homogeneous particle distribution within the slurry; (d) withdrawing the homogeneous particle-containing slurry via the outlet; (e) reducing the rotational speed n.sub.1 of the at least one impeller to a reduced rotational speed n.sub.red, whereas n.sub.red is lower than n.sub.1 and higher or equal gas inlet than n.sub.min according to equation (1):
SPARGE FOR A HIGH-PRESSURE VESSEL
A sparge for use in a high-pressure vessel operated at elevated temperatures and having high energy agitators for suspending mineral containing particles in a slurry. The sparge injects reagent fluids into the slurry to reduce reaction times and for controlling process parameters for extracting valuable minerals from the particles. The sparge has a vapor lock to inhibit the flow of particulate material and detritus material under low or no fluid flow situations which occur commonly in the operation of high pressure autoclaves. The sparge has a fluid flow path that increases in cross-sectional area in the direction of flow of reagent fluids so as to keep reagent fluids flowing at a velocity below a critical impingement velocity that can cause metal materials of the sparge to either wear rapidly, combust and in the worst case lead to loss of containment and violent and rapid depressurization of the high pressure vessel.
Methods, devices and systems for processing of carbonaceous compositions
Provided herein are methods, devices and systems for processing of carbonaceous compositions. The processing may include the manufacture (or synthesis) of oxidized forms of carbonaceous compositions and/or the manufacture (or synthesis) of reduced forms of oxidized carbonaceous compositions. Some embodiments provide methods, devices and systems for the manufacture (or synthesis) of graphite oxide from graphite and/or for the manufacture (or synthesis) of reduced graphite oxide from graphite oxide.
Upcycling perfluoropolymers into fluorinated olefins
Mechanical stirred bed reactors that incorporate a screen are described. Methods of using such reactors to process perfluoropolymers to form perfluorinated olefin monomers are also described. The reactors and methods may be used to upcycle filled perfluorinated materials.
REACTOR FOR COATING PARTICLES IN STATIONARY CHAMBER WITH ROTATING PADDLES
A reactor for coating particles includes a stationary vacuum chamber to hold a bed of particles to be coated, a vacuum port in an upper portion of the chamber, a chemical delivery system configured to inject a reactant or precursor gas into a lower portion of the chamber, a paddle assembly, and a motor to rotate a drive shaft of the paddle assembly. The lower portion of the chamber forms a half-cylinder. The paddle assembly includes a rotatable drive shaft extending through the chamber along the axial axis of the half cylinder, and a plurality of paddles extending radially from the drive shaft such that rotation of the drive shaft by the motor orbits the plurality of paddles about the drive shaft.
