USE OF TREATING ELEMENTS TO FACILITATE FLOW IN VESSELS
A method for facilitating the distribution of the flow of one or more streams within a bed vessel is provided. Disposed within the bed vessel are internal materials and structures including multiple operating zones. One type of operating zone can be a processing zone composed of one or more beds of solid processing material. Another type of operating zone can be a treating zone. Treating zones can facilitate the distribution of the one or more streams fed to processing zones. The distribution can facilitate contact between the feed streams and the processing materials contained in the processing zones.
DEVICE FOR DISTRIBUTING GAS IN A GAS PROCESSING VESSEL COMPRISING A PARTICULATE MATERIAL
A gas processing vessel of cylindrical shape having a cylindrical shell of the vertical axis, a gas distribution device and a first particulate material, the distribution device being fixed in the vessel next to a gas inlet or outlet orifice recessed into a lower end wall, a cover being designed to be in contact without a weld with the lower end wall and having a diameter greater than or equal to one third of the diameter of the vessel, a second particulate material with an equivalent diameter De greater than or equal to 10 mm and greater than the dimensions of the openings in the cover, and a means for centering the cover above the inlet or outlet orifice, the means being fixed to the pipe that is connected to the orifice.
REACTOR
An improved reactor comprising a shell and at least one reactor internal component. The reactor internal component includes a tube bundle comprising a plurality of tubes attached by at least one tube support plate comprising at least one radial strut and at least one bracket configured to secure to at least one tube of the tube bundle. The tubes are arranged in concentric bands about a longitudinal axis of the reactor. The reactor comprises a gas inlet plate, a catalyst support plate, and a top plate.
Multi-stage process and device for treatment heavy marine fuel oil and resultant composition including ultrasound promoted desulfurization
A multi-stage process for reducing the environmental contaminants in an ISO8217 compliant Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil involving a core desulfurizing process and a ultrasound treatment process as either a pre-treating step or post-treating step to the core process. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil complies with ISO 8217 for residual marine fuel oils and has a sulfur level has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) between the range of 0.05 mass % to 1.0 mass. A process plant for conducting the process is also disclosed.
EBULLATED BED REACTOR UPGRADED TO PRODUCE SEDIMENT THAT CAUSES LESS EQUIPMENT FOULING
An ebullated bed hydroprocessing system is upgraded and operated at modified conditions using a dual catalyst system to produce less fouling sediment. The less fouling sediment produced by the upgraded ebullated bed reactor reduces the rate of equipment fouling at any given sediment production rate and/or concentration compared to the sediment produced by the ebullated bed reactor prior to upgrading. In some cases, sediment production rate and/or concentration are maintained or increased, after upgrading the ebullated bed reactor, while equipment fouling is reduced. In other cases, sediment production rate and/or concentration are increased, after upgrading the ebullated bed reactor, without increasing equipment fouling. In some cases, sediment production rate and/or concentration are decreased by a given percentage, after upgrading the ebullated bed reactor, and the rate of equipment fouling is decreased by a substantially greater percentage.
APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING DIMETHYL CARBONATE
The present application relates to an apparatus and process for producing dimethyl carbonate, in particular a system (apparatus or process) for DMC synthesis without the need of using a dehydrating agent. More particularly, the feed mixture for the process can be selected from the following options: a) carbon monoxide, methanol and flue gas from the process, b) synthesis gas without CO.sub.2 and flue gas from the process, c) synthesis gas with CO.sub.2 and added synthesis gas from purified flue gas from the process. The process uses a catalyst cluster comprising a specific combination of different groups of heterogeneous catalysts wherein each group has a different function. Also the invention relates to an apparatus comprising a specific combination of heterogeneous catalysts for applying different routes to produce dimethyl carbonate from each feed mixture option, on continuous basis.
Heavy marine fuel oil composition
A process for reducing the environmental contaminants in a ISO 8217 compliant Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil (Feedstock), the process involving: mixing a quantity of the Feedstock with a quantity of Activating Gas mixture to give a feedstock mixture; contacting the feedstock mixture with one or more catalysts to form a Process Mixture from the feedstock mixture; separating the Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil liquid (Product) components of the Process Mixture from the gaseous components and by-product hydrocarbons of the Process Mixture and, discharging the Product. The Product is compliant with ISO standards for residual marine fuel oils and has a maximum sulfur content between the range of 0.05% wt. to 0.50% wt. The Product can be used as or as a blending stock for compliant, low sulfur or ultralow sulfur heavy marine fuel oil. A device for conducting the process is also disclosed.
Micro-interface strengthening reaction system and method for preparing ship fuel
The present invention relates to a micro-interface strengthening reaction system and method for heavy oil hydrogenation preparation of ship fuel, including a liquid phase feed unit, a gas phase feed unit, a micro-interface generator, a fixed-bed reactor and a separation tank. The present invention may reduce the pressure during the reaction by 10-80% while ensuring the efficiency of the reaction by breaking the gas to form micro-sized micro-bubbles and making the micro-bubbles mix with heavy oil to form an emulsion to increase the area between the gas and the liquid phase and to achieve the effect of enhancing mass transfer in a lower preset range. And, the present invention greatly enhances the mass transfer, so that the gas-liquid ratio can be greatly reduced. Also, the method of the present invention has low process severity, high production safety, low product cost per ton, and strong market competitiveness.
