Processing Diesel Fuel From Waste Oil
There is disclosed a system and method for processing diesel fuel from petroleum-based waste oil on a small scale compared to conventional methods for re-refining waste oil to a valuable product. In an embodiment, the method comprises dehydrating waste oil to remove water from the waste oil, and operating a vertical cylindrical reactor to induce pyrolysis of the dehydrated waste oil and convert it into a hydrocarbon vapour phase. The hydrocarbon vapour derived from pyrolysis is condensed and distilled using a distillation tower to produce diesel fuel, heavy liquid hydrocarbon, light liquid hydrocarbon and light hydrocarbon vapour. A filtering step cleans the processed diesel fuel to obtain a clean diesel fuel product.
FURNACE TUBE RADIANTS
A substantially linear ceramic or metallic radiant of ellipsoidal or polygonal cross section is placed proximate furnace tubes or coils in the radiant section of a fired heater to increase the radiant heat directed to the surface of the tubes or coils.
Dehydrogenation of cyclic thioethers
There is disclosed a surprising reaction of an alkane thiol with a catalyst and heat to become dehydrogenated and form a thiophene rather than an expected desulfurization reaction to form the corresponding alkane or alkene. Moreover, there are disclosed surprising results regarding the form of a catalyst to allow a reaction of an alkane thiol to form the dehydrogenated thiophene at lower temperatures and at higher conversion percentages to allow for more efficient recovery of thiophenes to allow for recycling and reuse of thiophenes to hydrogenate to form alkane thiols. Further still, there is disclosed a set of reaction conditions and catalyst presentation that allows for recovery of usable diatomic hydrogen gas from a dehydrogenation reaction of substituted or unsubstituted cyclic thioethers to substituted or unsubstituted thiophene.
DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING POLYSILICON USING HORIZONTAL REACTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The present invention relates to a polysilicon production apparatus. The apparatus includes: a horizontal reaction tube positioned in an insulated tube and having an inlet port through which gaseous raw materials including silicon-containing reactant gases and a reducing gas are supplied, an outlet port through which residual gases exit, a reaction surface with which the gaseous raw materials come into contact, and a plurality of bottom openings through which molten polysilicon produced by the reactions of the gaseous raw materials is discharged; one or more internal structures placed in the horizontal reaction tube to provide additional reaction surfaces; and first heating means adapted to heat the reaction surface of the horizontal reaction tube. The present invention also relates to a method for the production of polysilicon using the apparatus.
Reactor system for the production of high value chemical products
The invention is directed to a chemical reactor (100) having (a) two or more gas reactor elements (12) with each gas reactor element (12) having (i) a first reaction chamber (38), and (ii) a feed assembly unit (36), (b) a second reaction chamber (20) coupled with each of the two or more gas reactor elements (12) and configured to independently receive two or more product streams from the two or more gas reactor elements (12); and optionally, (c) a gas converging section (40) located downstream to the second reaction chamber (20). The invention is further directed to a method of producing chemical products using the chemical reactor (100) of the present invention.
A REACTOR
Disclosed is a reactor that uses chemical vapor deposition methods, and in particular, is used for the synthesis of micro and nano-sized materials, growth of nanomaterials, material coating and shaping materials.
REACTION CHAMBER FOR A FEEDSTOCK REACTOR
A reaction chamber for a feedstock reactor includes an outer shell defining a reaction volume and having a heat-resistant refractory, an inlet for allowing a feedstock to enter the reaction volume, an outlet for allowing reaction products, formed as a result of decomposition of the feedstock in the reaction volume, to exit the reaction volume, and a protective liner lining an interior surface of the outer shell and comprising a compliant shock-absorbing layer.
Electric steam cracker
A reactor system and a process for carrying out steam cracking of a feed gas comprising hydrocarbons is provided, i where the heat for the reaction is provided by resistance heating by means of electrical power, so that a product stream comprising at least one olefin compound is obtained.
Cyanide on demand
A reactor system and a process for carrying out the reaction of a feed gas comprising an alkane such as methane, and ammonia to hydrogen cyanide and/or a nitrile are provided, where the heat for the endothermic reaction is provided by resistance heating. In particular, the reaction is the BMA (Blausure aus Methan und Ammoniak) reaction.
REFORMING EXCHANGER TUBESHEET AND SHELL FLANGE DESIGN
A syngas reforming exchanger reactor design is described. The reforming exchanger has a head, a shell, and a tubesheet secured a tube bundle. The tubesheet is bolted to the shell, after which the head is bolted to the shell. A seal is configured between the tubesheet and components of the shell. Another seal is configured between components of the head and the tubesheet. In the reformer exchanger design, those seals are maintained under bolted pressure via the bolting of both the tubesheet and the head to the shell. This design improves the integrity of sealing, thereby preventing escape of hot reformed gases from the reformer exchanger reactor during operation.
