The invention provides a method for producing a peroxymonosulfuric acid solution with high stability, including the steps of mixing 35 mass % or more of hydrogen peroxide and 70 mass % or more of sulfuric acid to react them, cooling the reaction solution to 80 C. or lower within five minutes after initiation of the mixing step, and diluting the reaction solution with water four times or more as much as the reaction solution by mass.
Installation and process for the preparation of hydrogen cyanide
Present invention relates to a process and an installation (100) for the preparation of hydrogen cyanide by the Andrussow process, and more precisely for improving the conditions of mixing the reactant gases before feeding the Andrussow type reactor (60), in order to improve safety, to avoid any risk of explosion and to produce HCN in safe and efficient manner. The installation is configured in such a manner that oxygen is pre-mixed with air with a ratio comprised between 20.95% and 32.5% by volume, preferably between 25% and 30.5% by volume; methane containing gas and ammonia are simultaneously added in the pre-mixture of oxygen-enriched air in such a manner that the volumic ratio of methane to ammonia is comprised between 1.35 and 1.02 depending on the content of oxygen into air; said obtained reactant gases mixture having a temperature comprised between 80 C. and 120 C., preferably between 95 C. and 115 C. for feeding the Andrussow type reactor (60).
START-UP SYSTEM FOR STARTING REFORMING HYDROGEN PRODUCTION DEVICE
The invention discloses a start-up system for starting reforming hydrogen production device, the reforming hydrogen production device and the start-up system adopt methanol-water mixture as feedstock, comprising a feed riser pipe, a flame tray, an upper cover body and an igniter, The flame tray and the upper cover body are disposed on the feed riser pipe from the bottom up; the middle part of the upper cover body is provided with an aperture in communication with the feed riser pipe, the methanol-water mixture feedstock may flow from the feed riser pipe up to the aperture and be exuded from the aperture and spread around along the upper side surface of the upper cover body until flowing into the flame tray. The present invention has high ignition success rate, large methanol-water mixture burning areas and combustion flame, and can quickly restart the reforming hydrogen production device.
CATALYTIC REACTORS COMPRISING DISTRIBUTED TEMPERATURE SENSORS
A catalytic reactor is provided comprising a plurality of first flow channels including a catalyst for a first reaction; a plurality of second flow channels arranged alternately with the first flow channels; adjacent first and second flow channels being separated by a divider plate (13a, 13b), and a distributed temperature sensor such as an optical fibre cable (19). The distributed temperature sensor may be located within the divider plate, or within one or 10 more of the flow channels.
PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF DI- AND POLYAMINES OF THE DIPHENYLMETHANE SERIES
The present invention relates to a process for preparing di- and polyamines of the diphenylmethane series (MDA), a system for producing MDA and a process for operating a system for preparing MDA. The invention enables optimization of production standstills during operation of the MDA process with respect to time expenditure and optionally also with respect to energy and material consumption by means of a so-called recirculation mode for individual system components. During interruption of the process or interruption of the operation of individual system components, formaldehyde is not introduced into the reaction and the system components that are not affected by a revision, repair, or cleaning measure are operated in so-called recirculation mode. This enables, among other things, that only the affected system component can be put in standstill during the time period of the measure, which is advantageous in terms of productivity and economy of the process as well as in terms of the quality of the products produced.
A PROCESS FOR CONVERTING NATURAL GAS TO HIGHER HYDROCARBON(S)
The present invention relates to a process for converting natural gas to higher hydrocarbon(s) including aromatic hydrocarbon(s) in n reaction zones operated in series, wherein m reaction zones are not participating in the conversion process and only (nm) reaction zones are operated under reaction conditions sufficient to convert at least a portion of said natural gas to an effluent having said higher hydrocarbon(s). An object of the present invention is to provide a process for converting natural gas to higher hydrocarbon(s) including aromatic hydrocarbon(s) wherein a high reactant, i.e. methane, conversion can be achieved.
Method and apparatus for monitoring and controlling exothermic and endothermic chemical reactions
A method of controlling an exothermic or endothermic chemical reaction is provided. The method involves measuring a temperature of a first reactant flowing at a first flow rate, contacting the first reactant with a second reactant flowing at a second flow rate to form a reaction product, measuring the temperature of the reaction product, and determining the temperature difference between the temperature of the first reactant and the temperature of the reaction product. The method can further involve adjusting the flow rate of at least one of the first reactant and the second reactant, or shutting down flow, based on the temperature difference. An apparatus to carry out the method is also provided. The method and apparatus can be useful in controlling many different reactions, including the reaction of sodium hypochlorite and ammonia to form monochloramine.
