REACTORS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSES INVOLVING PARTIAL OXIDATION REACTIONS
20180311631 · 2018-11-01 ·

Described herein are improved chemical reactors for carrying out partial oxidation reactions. The chemical reactor permits the use of levels of oxygen above the lower explosion limit (LEL) typically used in partial oxidation reactions, which increases both volumetric reactivity and conversion per pass, resulting in reduced separation and reactant recycle costs. Also described are methods of using the reactors.

Method of treatment for a catalytic reactor

Process for treating a catalytic reactor comprising a catalyst bed that includes the successive steps of passivating the catalytic reactor leading to the production of an oxidation layer at the surface of the active sites of the catalyst bed, opening the reactor, and skimming at least one portion of the catalyst bed.

SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR RETROFITTING BROWNFIELD PLANTS

The invention modernizes abandoned or inefficient petrochemical plants for the production of jet fuel, diesel, naphtha, drilling fuels and wax. It utilizes an amine system shifted in a brownfield situation and a PRISM unit to cleanse incoming syngas and obtain an optimal H2:CO ratio for conversion. The refit and repurposing introduces novel heat transfer elements to a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reactor and embarks a proprietary FT catalyst for the production of GTL products. It also incorporates unique FT analyzers to monitor hydrocarbon streams and aid production and Coriolis flow meters for precise measurements of liquid wax flow, unaffected by wax congestion or vibration. Feedstocks include numerous sources such as Natural gas, Biomass, etc

Modified gas treatment plant shutdown procedure with flaring minimization

A method for shutting down a gas treatment plant to minimize flaring and allow for continued production during the shutdown procedure. The method includes reducing a sour gas feed flow rate and monitoring pressures in headers for various process units to identify when pressure equalization occurs. The method includes sampling the rich solvent in the system to verify a setpoint concentration of hydrogen sulfide has been reached to initiate a final system shutdown.

QUENCHING DEVICE, HYDROGEN PRODUCTION DEVICE, HYDROGEN PRODUCTION METHOD AND REACTOR FOR PHOTOCHEMICAL REACTION

A gist of the present invention provides a flame extinction device which is excellent in flame propagation suppressive effect and in shock wave propagation suppressive effect, and a hydrogen production device including the flame extinction device. A flame extinction device (1) includes: a flame propagation suppression section (3) having a porous portion on the first pipe (10) side and/or the second pipe (22) side when seen from a connective piping section (20); and a pressure reduction section (2) that reduces a risen internal pressure at an end part of a third pipe (23) which is not orthogonal to any of the first pipe (10) and the second pipe (22).
