Droplet libraries
The present invention generally relates to droplet libraries and to systems and methods for the formation of libraries of droplets. The present invention also relates to methods utilizing these droplet libraries in various biological, chemical, or diagnostic assays.
Peptide synthesis instrumentation
A peptide synthesis instrument can be used for small scale peptide synthesis. The instrument can include several unique features, including a compression style reaction vessel permitting quick setup of the reaction vessel, a double reaction vessel system permitting efficient mixing without loss of solvent or solvent-to-resin contact, gravity-fed heated reservoirs establishing a fixed volume for delivery to the reaction vessel, fume-free solvent addition permitting solvent addition to fixed bottles, and an improved amino acid manifold assembly which reduces the number of components and increases the ease of use of the instrument. Each of these features improve upon the current state of the art in solid phase automated peptide synthesizers.
Device and method for characterizing catalytic processes
Methods of catalytic process characterization using a reaction system having two or more reaction strands in a parallel arrangement, wherein each reaction strand has multiple series-connected reaction chambers or a single reaction chamber. Each reaction strand is supplied with a reactant stream subjected to process stages. Product streams discharged from the reaction strands are subjected to an analytical characterization, wherein the data achieved in the characterization are expressed in relative terms including the forming of a difference.
Imaging multiple chemical reactions in a flow cell array
Systems, computer program products, and methods for using a flow cell array are provided herein. A computer program product includes a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a device to cause the device to determine placement of multiple reaction site openings, wherein each reaction site opening is connected to a first sub-surface channel; connect the first sub-surface channel to two or more additional sub-surface channels by multiple vias; and provide a material for multiple reaction sites, wherein an overlap of the multiple reaction site openings and the material delineate the multiple reaction sites.
METHODS OF USING MICROFLUIDIC POSITIONAL ENCODING DEVICES
Embodiments relate to methods and compositions useful for routing and tracking multiple mobile units within a microfluidic device. Mobile units may be routed through a plurality of chemical environments, and the mobile units may be tracked to determine the path and/or environments that the mobile units have routed through. Mobile units may be routed in accordance with a predetermined algorithm. Mobile units may be routed through microfluidic devices in ordered flow. Mobile units routed through the microfluidic device can be used to perform various chemical reactions uniquely associated to the units, including without limitation peptide synthesis, enzymatic gene synthesis and gene assembly.
Washing Methods for Ethylene-Acrylic Acid Copolymer Manufacturing Process Using Solvent
The present invention relates to a method for producing an ethylene-based copolymer, and more particularly, to a method for producing an ethylene-based copolymer capable of increasing process efficiency by preventing plugging and corrosion of a facility. The method for producing an ethylene-based copolymer includes a producing mode and a washing mode of which one is selectively performed. The producing mode includes: a) hyper-compressing primary compressed ethylene, and a mixture including a carboxylic acid-containing comonomer and a polar solvent to produce a compressed material; b) reacting the compressed material to produce a reaction product including an ethylene-based copolymer; and c) separating and recovering unreacted residues from the reaction product and introducing the unreacted residues into the mixture of step a). The washing mode includes: re-supplying the compressed material produced in step a) to step a) as a mixture, without performing step b).
