SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR STRUCTURED CATALYST PACKINGS
A support structure for a structured catalytic packing is disclosed. The support structure is in a fixed position relative to the reactor tube containing it. It supports catalyzed casings that are free to move relative to the support structure. The support structure and casings are inserted in the reactor tube such that the support structure is located proximate the longitudinal axis of the tube and the casings are located between the support structure and the reactor tube wall. The support structure comprises a central support tube or rod proximate to, and impervious or perforated discs perpendicular to, the longitudinal axis of the reactor tube, and may comprise spacers separating the discs.
PACKING SECTION FOR A GAS/LIQUID SEPARATION COLUMN
A packing section intended to be installed in a casing so as to form a gas/liquid separation column comprises a block for treating a fluid that has a generally cylindrical shape extending along a longitudinal direction, the treatment block being formed by a stack of plates for treating the fluid along the longitudinal direction, the treatment block having a first disc-shaped face and a second disc-shaped face that each extend in planes parallel to one another, the treatment block having an external face extending over the perimeter of said treatment block between the first disc-shaped face and the second disc-shaped face, the packing section having at least one element for holding the treatment block that extends at least partially around the external face of the treatment block, the holding element having a portion for holding the treatment plates of the treatment block in position.
Batch processing apparatus
Current chemical batch processing technology is based on batch reactors, which typically consist of a vessel, in which reactants are processed. The batch reactor comprises a reactor vessel having at least one first thermal transfer element; a removable top cover for sealing the reactor vessel; a baffle component having at least one second thermal transfer element; and an agitator component, wherein each of the at least one first thermal transfer element and the at least one second thermal transfer element is independently controllable, and wherein the batch reactor comprises a thermal transfer surface-to-volume ratio of at least 6:1. This increases the thermal transfer potential and the thermal energy transfer efficiency of the batch reactor, thereby to increase production speed and throughput.

Catalytic reactor
A catalytic reactor includes: a reaction-side flow channel in which a reaction fluid flows; structured catalysts accommodated in the reaction-side flow channel. Each structured catalyst includes inclined surfaces in at least part of each of two surfaces facing other structured catalysts. The inclined surfaces are inclined in the same direction with respect to an arrangement direction of the structured catalysts.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENHANCING YIELD AND TRANSFER RATE OF A PACKED BED
An apparatus for enhancing a yield and a transfer rate of a packed bed includes a packed bed, a vessel having a reaction chamber, a support frame and acoustic attenuator for holding the packed bed in the reaction chamber, at least one acoustic transducer adapted to transmit acoustic energy into the packed bed and an acoustic generator. The acoustic generator has impedance matching functionality.

Fluid collection device, material exchange column and method for producing a fluid collection device of this type
The invention relates to a fluid collection device (8), in particular a support collector unit, for collecting fluid flowing through a packing (4) of a material exchange column (1). The fluid collection device (8) includes a support ring (11), a plurality of support profiles (12-16) secured to the support ring (11) for supporting the at least one packing (4), and a plurality of collection channels (19-21) secured to the support ring (11) for collecting the fluid. The collection channels (19-21) are positioned in parallel to the support profiles (12-16) and the support profiles (12-16) are arranged in such a way that they are each arranged in a no-flow area (40, 41) of one of the collection channels (19-21).
Packing assembly, material exchange column, and method
The invention relates to a packing assembly for a material exchange column, comprising at least one structured packing plate and a container in which the at least one structured packing plate is arranged. The at least one structured packing plate has packing packets. Each packing packet has interconnected packing sheets. The packing sheets are corrugated and have corrugation peaks and corrugation valleys. Adjacent packing sheets contact each other at the corrugation peaks. Additional corrugated packing sheets are added between the packing packets such that the at least one packing plate is pretensioned against the container in a radial direction thereof. Both the corrugated packing sheets of the packing packets as well as the additional corrugated packing sheet added between the packing packets are arranged solely on a common preferred plane or parallel thereto.
Structured packing element formed by a flat plate provided with slots and recesses
A structured packing element has the shape of a rectangular flat plate, and is provided with slots and recesses. The slots are intended for assembly by interlocking the structured packing elements together in order to form the structured packing. The recesses are provided in order to form channels within the structured packing. A packing structure can be obtained by assembling such packing elements. Such a packing can be used for an operation of bringing a gas and a catalyst into contact. A manufacturing process of such a structured packing is also disclosed.
