In order for it to be possible for the user of a manual metering apparatus (1) to be provided with different options for adjusting a manual metering apparatus (1), in particular a pipette, the manual metering apparatus (1) according to the invention is proposed, in the case of which the operating element (5) for operating the volume adjusting mechanism (3) of the manual metering apparatus (1) is constructed in two pieces and comprises a display adjusting element (7) which is connected to the volume display (4) of the manual metering apparatus (1), and the volume adjusting element (8) which is connected to the volume adjusting mechanism (3) of the manual metering apparatus (1). The display adjusting element (7) and the volume adjusting element (8) are connected to one another via the releasable coupling (9), with the result that a volume adjustment leads to a corresponding adjustment of the volume display and vice versa, as long as the coupling (9) is closed. If the coupling (9) is released, the display adjusting element (7) and the volume adjusting element (8) can be adjusted or actuated independently from one another in order to adjust the manual metering apparatus (1) (FIG. 5).

LIQUID-METERING DEVICE FOR BALLISTICALLY DISCHARGING METERED AMOUNTS IN THE NANOLITER RANGE, LIQUID-METERING METHOD AND PIPETTING TIP THEREFOR

A liquid-metering device for discharging metered liquid in the nanometer range, includes a pipetting-tip receiving device defining, at least in a metering-ready operating position of the liquid-metering device, a receiving space that runs along a virtual receiving axis and is designed to receive a portion of a pipetting-tip. The liquid-metering device also includes a triggering plunger moveable relative to the pipetting-tip receiving device, between a standby position and a triggering position. The liquid-metering device also includes movement drive, which is coupled to the triggering plunger so as to transmit motion, and a control device for controlling operation of the movement drive. A first and second deformation formation define therebetween an axial longitudinal region of the receiving space as a deformation region, in which region the first and second formations can be brought closer or farther away to/from one another. The triggering plunger is located in the deformation region.

PIPETTE WITH ADJUSTABLE DOSING VOLUME

A pipette comprises a housing extending from a lower end to an upper end and a neck extending from the lower end of the housing and configured to hold a pipette tip. A stroke rod comprising an upper end and a lower end is configured to displace a tip plunger in the pipette tip. A drive apparatus is configured to displace the stroke rod to: (1) aspirate a liquid specimen into the pipette tip held on the neck; and (2) to eject the specimen from the pipette tip by means of a tip plunger positively connected to the stroke rod. At least one locking sleeve is arranged coaxially with the stroke rod and configured to be displaceably guided toward the stroke rod in the housing, The locking sleeve is configured to inhibit release of a tip plunger from the stroke rod.

COLLECTION DEVICE AND METHOD
20220000456 · 2022-01-06 ·

A collection device for examining fecal matter to determine whether or not a patient is afflicted with parasites includes a particle accumulating plug mounted on an end of a collection tube containing a fecal specimen. The particle accumulating plug includes a conically-shaped inner wall that defines an inverted funnel within the plug. A pipetting port is formed through the inner wall at the apex of the inverted funnel to allow the tip of a pipette to enter the port and aspirate the ova or eggs, or other parasite cells, that have separated from the fecal specimen when a flotation solution is added to the tube and the tube is centrifuged. The conical shape of the inner wall of the plug directs the separated parasite ova or eggs towards the pipetting port and to accumulate within the volume of the funnel of the plug so that a desired volume of fluid containing a concentrated quantity of parasite ova or eggs may be aspirated into the pipette tip through the pipetting port of the particle accumulating plug.
